20 BEST KNOCKOUTS of BUTTERBEAN in BOXING (The King of 4 Rounds)

Eric Scott Esch (77W(58 KO's), 10L, 4 D) better known by his nickname "Butterbean", is an American retired professional boxer who competed in the super heavyweight division. Esch became a professional boxer in 1994 after a successful stint on the Toughman Contest scene and went on to capture the World Athletic Association (WAA) heavyweight and IBA Super heavyweight championships, also losing to a 52 year old Larry Holmes in his first fight lasting more than four rounds.
Boxing career; "King of the 4 Rounders" (1994-2002)
Esch began his fighting career on the Toughman Contest scene in Texarkana, Arkansas in the early 1990s and went on to become a five-time World Toughman Heavyweight Champion with a record of 56-5 with 36 knockouts. He received the nickname "Butterbean" when he was forced to go on a diet (consisting mostly of chicken and butterbeans) in order to meet the Toughman 400 pound (181 kg) weight limit under the new age trainer Prozay Buell “the better Buell”.
He made his professional boxing debut on October 15, 1994, beating Tim Daniels by decision in Birmingham, Alabama. He soon developed a cult following and became known as "King of the 4 Rounders". Speaking of his popularity in a 2008 interview with BoxingInsider, Esch stated.
Esch ran up a string of wins, mostly by knockout, before being stopped in two rounds by Mitchell Rose on December 15, 1995. Butterbean went on the road, around the United States, winning 51 consecutive matches, including against Peter McNeeley. While the majority of his opponents were technically limited club-level fighters early in his career, he did move up the ranks to win the IBA Super Heavyweight Championship on April 12, 1997 with a second round technical knockout of Ed White at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He made five successful title defenses before relinquishing his championship in 2000.
After his five-year winning streak was brought to an end with a majority decision defeat by heavyweight Billy Zumbrun in August 2001, he fought his first ten rounder against fifty-two-year-old former world heavyweight champion Larry Holmes at the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Virginia on July 27, 2002. While Holmes won a unanimous decision, Esch was credited with a controversial knockdown in the final round, which was later shown in filmed replays as not being a knockdown, no punch having landed, and it was a slip; and Holmes only reeled against the ropes. This was one of only three fights in a 109 fight career that was scheduled for more than four rounds.

What I love about this guy is he doesn't pummel his opponent any more than he has to. He knows when he's won and walks away. Amazing guy.

I think the punch absorbing was his main strength because you couldn't fight him like normal people. He just didn't take damage, so he could just walk right through opposing punches. If a normal person swung their arms like him they would instantly regret it, but he could do it because he didn't care about eating a few punches.

Eric Scott Esch aka " Butterbean " from Atlanta Georgia was a champion of champions. He was an amazing boxer that wasn't no pushover, he was underestimated by so many fighters till they stepped in the ring with him. than they learned really quickly to respect him. The dude was a tremendous fighter for his size and he had the heart of a lion. He knew how to entertain the crowd he gave his all and deserves to be recognized much more than he what he was, I think he was an awesome fighter. I was blown away at his ability to throw combinations and he would just keep going, the dude knocked out a lot of men in his days, what a monster. I wouldn't want to get hit with one of his power punches and I respect any man who would be crazy enough to step in the ring with him that's for sure. @@botulismcasserole9832 Bro, that's like how I use my fists to punch nails into six-inch-thick wooden planks at 3:56 PM every Tuesday. There was this guy by the name of Banana Guy Banana Dude Sir. Johnson Jr. who would come by to use his toilet paper cannon and shatter my windows. He wasn't an actual banana, he just named himself that because he really likes bananas. In fact, he rings me every other month to tell me how much he likes bananas. Anyway, one day, he was trying to do the same thing with his cannon, so I came running out of my house with foot-long chains wrapped around my wrists, blood all over my clothes, and screaming, "RUN, EVERYBODY. THE MONSTER WHO KILLS ANYBODY THAT LIKES BANANAS IS HERE!" Well, that was enough for him. Banana Guy Banana Dude Sir. Johnson Jr. screamed, took out a huge rope from seemingly nowhere, tied it to his toilet paper cannon, and took off down the street. The only thing I was wondering was what the One-Armed Cephalopod Man was doing by chasing after him. I quickly stopped thinking about it. Anyway, I went back inside and spent the rest of the day practicing singing "Pork and Beans" by Weezer while standing on my ceiling. Once it was time for dinner, I used my gravity-defying rocket-boots to jump to the Moon, slice a chunk off, and bring it back down to the Earth. I used the slice of Moon to make an alien delicacy called "Lunar cheese on toast". Since, as we all know, the Moon is made out of cheese. When it came time for bed, I did some backflips on the roof of my house while yelling "Buddy Holly" by Weezer at the top of my lungs. Then I waited for the Blood Rabbit to run through the 13th sector, thereby signifying the end of my day. Once I saw it, I phased through my roof and into my bed. That night, I dreamed of flying bananas. But when I woke up, I felt guilty about what I did to Banana Guy Banana Dude Sir. Johnson Jr. So that morning, I rang him up and told him it was a joke. He forgave me and we both went to the shoe factory to drink banana smoothies. Overall, it was a pretty good time.

Yes a sideshow that flattens professional boxers.
He was in great shape
I never saw Eric in his early days... Really amazed at what a great boxer he was.
I love this Man of power!!
I wonder if any of those opponents said, “Butterbean okay?” Oh wait that was Johnny Knoxville
I was a boxer when I was younger and I would not want to fight butterbean, his punches are too fast and hard...
What I love about Butterbean is that he showed that a fat person could be a fighter.
Respect from Poland!
When Butterbean decides he's coming at you, he's coming at you and there's nothing you can do to stop him. Just relentless. In the fights where they show number of punches thrown per round, Butterbean will usually have like over twice as many punches thrown. Not just that, but a higher percentage of them land, and it's not like he's a small target to hit, and when they do land, he doesn't care, he just keeps coming at you.
Butterbean be like I ain't got no time let's finish this thing wrap it up..
Butterbean was no joke.
I love watching Butterbean. Terrific entertainer. Terrific puncher. Terrific personality. One of the all time boxing greats. Seems like he had a lot of skill and courage. In terms of power, he must be on the same level as Foreman, Liston and Shavers.
