The knipex pliers are so tough and versatile. There’s an even smaller version of the one you showed, it’s a 4 inch and is a perfect addition to a roadside tool kit.

Would the 4” version work for all bike needs vs the 5”?

@@morningtidefilms the 4 inch jaw can open to 15mm for everything from an axle nut and below. The 5 inch one opens to 20mm.

Oh dear. You just cost me a hundid bucks.
This is the ultimate most comprehensive list of bike gift things (or for most of us, self-gift splurge things)
Gotta share one of the best buys I made this year. I need to regularly change what keys I take with me & what I keep with my pocket knife. These things are secure & convenient. Highly recommend for gift or self. Nite Ize S Biner MicroLock 2 Pack Stainless
I always pick up a few things from these annual or semi-annual stocking stuffer videos. Great selection of stuff I would never find on my own!
Met the folks from Austere last Spring. Good people with creative ideas. The straps are premium quality.
This is a really well thought out list, the addition of my favorite Knipex pliers sealed it.
Great list, Russ. It jogged my memory for things I'd like in my pack as well as giving for gifts! I'd add one: Shokz headphones. I don't often listen to music on the bike, but when I'm on a low/no traffic area riding long and steady these are really nice. They are bone conduction and provide pretty great sound. They are comfortable and work well with my helmet. They are also great for wandering around the house doing chores too.
I love that you’re including art supplies ❤
I'd love to think that I'm not the only one whos tuning in whenever you recommend something that an artist/biker can appreciate, Rus. More power for ya! 😀
The NOCS is definitely on point: it's just handy to have for lots of reasons when you're out and about. 10/10, would recommend.
Thanks for the video. Really great ideas, much more thorough and original than other gift reviews I've seen.
Great list! Thanks for the ideas!
When using the Opinel knife on longer trips watch out for the wood swelling. When that happens, it can become difficult to open and close. If you use the knife for cutting food, cleaning it gets the wood wet and causes it to swell. We discovered this on a week-long trip. About mid-trip it became dangerously difficult to open and close.

If you buy a carbon steel Opinel, in the presence of wetness, I think rust on the blade will be the dominating complaint, as opposed to swelling wood.
@BryanHansel

@@rachavya That could be another complaint if the buyer wasn't expecting it for sure.
A great video. I love how you did not try to keep the cost down like I have seen on other channels. Great great idea for X Mas. I think I will have my love ones see this video and I think I am go to buy some for my self
Very well curated list of gifts. I would love all of them ;-).
Thanks for the list! No shade to the opinel but I usually take a small fixed blade bikepacking. My favorite is the ESEE Izula 2. It's a 1095 high carbon steel but it's powder coated so you only have to take care with the edge. It's in a different price range unfortunately
Just bought the gravelero based on your recommendation and it’s def solves the volume issue - got me back to 5psi on 26x4 fatties in a minute of vigorous pumping and was grateful to have it. As usual your recommendations are on point.
Great ideas for cyclists of all types. I try to give several of my cycling buddies a gift bag with gels, energy bars, a gift card to a local coffee shop because who doesn't like a pre or post ride coffee, and then something specific for each rider.
Pretty good video, it helped me a lot! thanks.
Thanks for the video Russ…. I had never heard of Austere Manufacturing…. I just ordered a couple items from them and mentioned I heard of Austere from your video 👍
Thanks for the Meiser recommendation - this is exactly the gauge I have been looking for!

Me too. Ordered it as he was still talking about it.
Great to learn you paint too 🔥
Austere straps certainly look great. As for myself, I find the most cost-effective (but likely heavier) solution is a Nite Ize Dual CamJam (on sale at Amazon for $12 as of 27Nov2022) mated to 1" webbing (which I've bought in bulk).
Had never seen the cable cherrys before, cool.
Some cool ideas there! Some a bit niche maybe, but still ok. You missed the opportunity to mention some lights, perhaps. It is the dark season in the northern hemisphere, so lights are also useful ;) And most of them fit into a stocking. Cable cherries are a cool touch! I saw them on one of your videos months ago, and had to get some for myself. Even though I don't change cables often, I still like the esthetics of them much better than the usual cable ends. However, what I think would be cool as a future stocking stuffer, is some bar tape. Specifically, if you are making grips already, you should partner up with someone for some PARTYPACE tape :)
Great ideas!
Love my Opinel knives. Great little knives for the price.
Nice ones! Love the Racer.
You just came up with the list I am sending my friends and family. For me of course : }
Install ESI grips using hand sanitiser gel, works like a charm and you’ll never struggle again.
For a chain wear tool I recommend UNIOR Pro chain wear indicator. Made in Europe so for once, you US folks might have to pay extra.
GREAT list--thank you! Definitely pulling ideas from this to give out for me...and then picking out a few things to self-gift. Gotta take good care of yourself too, right? 😜
That Shimano chain checker looks pretty nice; I've never seen that one before. When I bought mine, I went with the Rohloff Caliber 2 on the recommendation of a bike mechanic friend, and it has been great. Precision-cut like the Shimano and super simple to use. Nice video!
Pirelli makes their own version of the Tubolito. Those Cable Cherries look pretty cool.
You mentioned that the grips were a pain to put on - squirt some rubbing alcohol inside the grips and/or on the bars and you can twist them on without much effort.
Fillmore Valves!
I already have bought a number of these 😅
Have you tried the Granite Cricket bell? It's one of those cowbell or standard bike bell options, for bears/multi use trails and things.
cool video here Russ.
I was waiting for a recommendation on a Tenkara rod ;)
Great list, lots of diversity to please all types (and all spouses/significant others. ;-) I also always carry a monocular, but i use a much smaller, much cheaper one: easier to pack because of the size, and i won't be too sad if i bang it up, exposed as it is in an easy-to-reach pouch on a strap (fanny pack or hydration pack.) I'm sure the quality is not as good as the Nocs, but it's definitely good enough to check out birds, the trail ahead, crossing ibex high up on a hill over the Deschutes river -- and even the moon at night. ;-) Carson MiniMight 6x18mm Pocket Monocular, avalable on Amazon and other fine stores, i'm sure. Easy-on-the-wallet stocking stuffer.
I’m not seeing the link to wolf tooth. I’m going to google it but just thought I’d let you know. Thanks! Great list!
Tubolito also require a different type of patch from a standard tube! 😬
I own most of these cause of this channel 😅
Sent to my wife already
Also, Abbey Bike Works is currently running their only sale of the year - 15% off everything. But it ends at midnight tonight (PST)
The Rene Hese mirror looks cool but, if you run alt-flat MTB bars and do a significant amount of mountain-biking, the location of said mirror(s) is problematic in tight trail scenarios or crashes. Really wish somebody did a mirror you could flip behind bark-busters on the trail like they do for dirt-bikes.

you forget the handlebar mount for the super speed graphic...................................
I'll still get a box of chocolates!!! Stay Safe!!
Silent K on the Knipex, been using their products for over 30 years. Sounds like Nypex.

The ages old "how to pronounce Knipex" and correctly the German way, where the brand is from, the K is not silent.
I'm leaving a comment 3 seconds in solely because you said baller in the title.

Pink bikes are my weak spot, somehow...
Great list! I’m adding something relevant from Abbey Bike Tools to it.
