Hey I went from Retinol to Retinal 0.05 and I must say my skin becomes very very dry. Shall I use it once a week for the first couple of weeks then increase the application times.

Must say I find retinal much less irritating than retinol. No going back. Keep up the great content, Rob.

I went from Retinol 0•02% too Retinal 0•02% too Tretinoin 0•05% over the space of about a year, I have had no issues or irritation and have seen some fabulous results, thank you Rob for all your wonderful advice ❤😆🏳️‍🌈🇦🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🙏💋‼️

I have mature dry/dehydrated skin made sensitive by rosacea. I began retinal about 18 months ago after struggling for months with a damaged skin barrier during which I discontinued 1% retinol, I found it to be a contributing factor. Retinal has been so much easier for me to introduce, maintain and increase without problems tolerating it. I began with 0.02% retinal, the Beauty of Joseon eye serum on my face. I moved to G&G 0.05% without issue, but used BofJ for eyes and my more sensitive neck. I have since moved to G&G 0.1% on my face and 0.05% on my neck. I received TO’s 0.2% today and will slowly introduce it on my face, hoping to tolerate the increase over time.

Very informative, thanks Rob! I went from TO Ordinary Granactive to Maelove Moonlight serum and had zero irritation or adjustment issues. *Huge* difference in results. A few months ago , I switched to Naturium's 0.1% (same strength as the Maelove) and actually get some noticeable stinging. Last night I tried the new TO retinal 0.2% and, zero irritation (nothing), though I 'm not going to push my luck and go straight into nightly use just in case. Short answer, team Retinal all the way :) xx

Rob, thanks to you within a year I progressed from retinol to your retinal and stronger version of G&G. Currently, I use KSecret 1988 retinal serum and twice a week prescription tretinoin. I still use your retinal on my neck cause stronger vit a is too harsh for me. Around my eye, I use BoJ retinal and never experienced any irritation. So thank you again for a great advice in regards to application and products!

I started with Cerave Retinol and BoJ Retinal for the eyes at the same time last year and I'm still using it. After that I'll switch completely to retinal, probably G&G.

About a yr or so ago I decided to try to add retinol in my routine. Tbh tho, I was barely doing much back then. I too was hit/miss on things breaking me out. Think I bought the Olay retinol cream which did then break me out. After looking more into it all, I decided retinAL would probably be better for me. I first tried the .5 strength Naturium retinaldehyde. Loved it. So eventually I bumped up to their full strength. Very nice as well, no irritation. Have been watching you regularly these days and when my Naturium ran out I ordered the K secret Seoul 1988. It's also been really nice.❤

I switched from retinol to 0.1% retinal about 6 months ago, but I wasn't even aware until now that there was a 0.2%. Just looked it up, and TO 0.2% is much cheaper than the 0.1% from another brand I'm currently using. It's a smaller size, but even when taking that into account, it's a better option price-wise. I'll be trying it in the future.

Same. I had a bit of sensitivity when I first started, but it went away quickly.

Great to know! I have never had a product make my skin breakout until I started using the Kiehls micro-dose. Going to try Retinal!

I started with TO Granactive, then Wishtrend Amazing moisturiser combines low strength retinal and bakuchiol, and now MAS night oil. I've never had a problem with Vitamin A. However, I do have to be careful with perfume, drying alcohol and high strength niacinamide. So I ❤ MAS range of products.

Haha same here. I didn t like ordinary but never had irritaiton priblem. Its just i felt my skin was helping with qctive pimples but also clogged my pores. Im going try it again for a week. If still cause me weird bumps under my skin, i mgoing to use different retinol but im bot sure to go move to retinal. I would try geek and gorgeous

I couldn’t use retinol at all, even at the lowest strength. I tried different brands - all disaster. My skin was not amused. I tried Geek & Gorgeous A-Game after one of your videos. I started with 5, used that a few times a week for probably 6 months. Never an issue. I switched to their 10, use it every evening, and my skin loves it. It’s also one of only products I’ve ever used that really makes a visible difference. (I’m still not sure what C is doing, but it’s refreshing in the morning so I keep at it). I use aPad with the retinol in the evening, along with a moisturizer.

Currently using the Dr V PM Gel Moisturiser which has 0.1% Retinal & Retinol. Will then use the MAS Retinal Oil. Then going to try the Theramid Retinal Serum

I've been using Naturium retinaldehyde .1%. I just recently bought The Ordinary's new retinal, I'm excited to try it!

I've been on different retinols for about three years now and this year I made a move onto retinals: I started with G&G A-game 10 - loved it, but then found Niche Beauty's Theramid which is the same strength retinal+ other retinols (love thus one too). After I finish this bottle I'm planning on trying the stronger TO retinal too. I'm turning 40 this year, do I'm thinking of trying tretinoin, but if it's too harsh and won't wotk out, I'm perfectly fine to stay on retinals for the rest of my life - I'm happy with the results and loving hiw gentle on the skin they are😊

Thanks Rob just ordered the G&G A-game 5 to be on the safe side as only tried Hyram’s retinol before but excited to get started!

Switched from retinol to retinal in August 2023 and I am doing good with it. Right now I’m using the Naturium retinal 0.05% but once I’m done with this tube I’m switching to 0.1%. Although right now I messed up my skin by trying to switch from Mandelic acid to glycolic acid thinking my skin could tolerate it 😩😩. I should have followed your advice and not go for the glycolic 🙈

Thanks for another wonderful video! After experiencing bitter experiences with retinol, I have used bakuchiol/DMEA for the past couple of years. I love ceramide/ urea combination, too. Maybe it is a time for me to try retinal🤔

I use tret monthly from dermatica, their formulation is so nice! Oh and I've been buying Medik8 0.2% Retinal for my neck £99 bloody quid tho so will be buying the ordinary 0.2% from now on 😊

I use both. I alternate. I use tretinoin though. Its very aggressive and ive been on it for 16 years. My face never stop coming off in sheets! Ive had skin cancer so its good for me

i have seen their products but never used. They also have level up 0.2% Retinal which i would love to try

Tretinoin .6 compound with Niacinamide and Clindamycin, full pump on face, full pump on neck, and full pump on chest, three times per week. I do not put it on my lids, but directly under the eyes. On my lids, I apply Adapalene three times per week.

I am currently using retinal 0.1 but had to order 0.2 from the ordinary because you recommended it 😁👍🙏🥰

Just switched from No.7 1% retinol to the new Ordinary retinal emulsion. No issues.

Retinal. I use your MAS anti aging oil (which I love, love, LOVE!) and just purchased The Ordinary Retinal Emulsion. But what is up with them describing it on the box as “Age Support”??😅 Thanks for your videos and your MAS products! 🇨🇦

Started with RetinAl G&G .05, then .1%. Now I use Tretinoin on my face and continue with retinal on my neck and chest.

Still on G&G A Game 10 and I have a couple of backups. But I'll try the TO one at the end of the year and maybe Tret next year who knows 😉 You are part of my daily morning/evening routine 😊 I took my makeup off and now it's lactic acid time 😄

I’ve gone from trying to use tret under derm guidance to Medik8 Crystal Retinal 1 again under derm guidance, more than once a week on tret at lowest strength my skin couldn’t torelate…..I’m seeing really good results even on the lowest strength and slowly built up front once a week to 6 nights (night 7 is exfoliating night using mandelic acid, I might just try Medik8 Press and Glow next once)

I have switched to Retinal a year ago! 🎉

I have switched to Retinal 0.1% in December and so far on my best skincare routine . I am using Geek Gorgeous a game 10. I couldn’t use tretinoin as was always peeling, irritated very easily. Retinol was just not enough for me. RetinAl is the way to go for me ❤😅

used retinal for the last two months (after a few years on retinol) and recently switched to 0.025% Tretinoin.

Max tretinoin nightly here. 0.14 % from curology.

I worked my way up the strengths of retinol and then changed to retinal, now using g and g 1%.

Still using retinol. I will change over when I've used up what I have.

2 weeks ago I started using Protocol Labs Enzyme-Active Retinol Serum (0.1% retinal) & am shocked how gentle it is, no irritation at all. I’ve had congestion/texture on my forehead for years that withstood microdermabrasion, chemical peels, various acid serums - anything I threw at it. I’m actually starting to see the congested pores flatten out & soften so I’m hopeful that retinal may be my skincare hero. 🤞

Hello, thank you for a great content, a lot of useful information. I'm using retinol since September 23 and I'm going to switch to Retinal. Can you advise if I can layer azelaic acid , urea serum and retinat in my evening routine or its better to separate retinol and do it alone? ❤

I have used Beauty Pie's Super Retinol daily for over a year, but recently (about 2 weeks ago) switched to TO 0.2% Retinal emulsion every 3rd night...i haven't noticed any significant changes yet, but I'm not giving up!

I’m using the ordinary retinAl .2% emulsion. I just ordered a second bottle from the Ulta sale cus I don’t wanna run out. I use it daily at night. I also have used a gentle glycolic acid serum with it daily cus I’ve noticed the retinal really is truly turning my skin over speedy quickly that I can manage to gently exfoliate daily without any irritation. I use a more aggressive exfoliation serum 2-3 times a week (dermalect self esteem beauty sleep serum) and alternate that with peel pads. Depending what I feel like using lol.

I'm in the process of switching from a 0.1 retinol serum which also contains Bachuciol and retinal to retinal.

I just moved from Avene retinal to Tretinoin .25%. Starting at 1x a week as my skin can get very sensitive. 🤞🏻

Dear Rob, thank you very much for your helpful content! I have a question which is certainly not new, but perhaps you have an opinion on it. It's about combining copper peptides and retinoids in one routine (evening). You often hear that it is not possible or at least not recommended (Transparent lab for example does not recommend the combination because of "the risk of over-exfoliation" - which I cannot understand, to be honest). But there are other opinions, too. What is your opinion? If it is possile to incorporate both actives in one routine, is there anything to take care about, i.e. waiting time between the two steps? I use a product which contains retinal and (less) retinol. I have learned from your website that MAS will have an own copper peptide product soon. Would you recommend to use it with retinoids? Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany!

Beauty of joseon for eyes, was using A Game for rest of face was using 0.2 percent. just tried the ELF. Dont know why except that I like ELF but I am going to switch because I don't know the concentration.

Tretinoin for 9 years (now 58 years old) every other night. Now tretinoin/retinal (Mas) alternating nights. Having some health issues and my skin has just been meh…like nothing working for me so I’ve decided to cut back my evening routine. I now use an essence, Sukoyaka Suchada urea lotion, Tret or retinal and sometimes a moisturiser. I feel like I was maybe putting too much on my skin so my retinoids were being diluted or not absorbed if that makes sense?!

I just switched from the ordinary retinol 0.2% or Paula choice 0.3% to retinal .2% from TO

I love Retinal! Just started using Trinny London Overnight Clarity with 0.15 % Retinal and it feels amazing. Much cheaper than Medik8.

What about Elf youth boosting advanced night retinoid serum? It has not only retinal but also Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate.

Retinal or retinol. I am always change I have not used it for months lol I only been use cleanser n vit c in the day hand cream I been so busy and use exfoliating wipes in middle of a move hectic. Need you to do a book then I will know exactly what serums to use as there so much choice 🦋🦋🦋😁🤗 Buy one get one free sounds great I have to get that retinal oil

I didn’t really use retinol but started using retinal a few years ago Ive tried a few Medik8 is my favourite but too pricey Also like the skin rocks one but again a bit out of my budget Currently using geek and gorgeous which I like but wanting to try the naturium Which do you prefer between the g&g and naturium?
