I put this in the same class as an Aston Martin, I fault no one for buying these but for me the competition is just better so that’s what I would pick but I respect anyone for buying this it is gorgeous

they have a gt 63 e performance that has 800+ hp and 0-60 in 2.7 realistically prolly like 2.6/2.5 which is pagani/ferrari/svj numbers

The Aston Martin Vantage is actually a lot lighter, more a serious sport car, the DB12 would be more close to this car, because it has become more a GT than a serious sport car…

​@@adambobs2740800+hp to go slower than a turbo S stock? Even if we're being conservative, they do 2.3 0-60, and 10.2 1/4, when they could realistically do a 2.1 and 9.9 1/4. I get the TTV8 hype, but it's sound is a bit inferior after all those emissions restrictions. So they both sound like lawnmowers, one is faster, and more prestigious, the other has a V8. that's basically the difference between them

I have to be honest and say that I find this banging unbearable - compare it to a Ferrari V8: it sounds dark, brutal and full of energy.

Being fromm the area such great content !!!!

The Porsche is not a GT car ! GT cars are always bigger more heft and the feel and presence is supposed to be large eg Aston martins , Bentley GT ......and so on

It sounds incredible!!

Only problem is price vs power of this thing.

Great review. I love everything about AMG GT but the interior. That's like future interior from the past. Looks very old to my old eyes. It doesn't need to have Tesla like interior, but look at how Porsche does the interior.

I REALLY hate the oh crap we forgot to make room for the infotainment screen.. It's too late now so just slap it on the dash look. While I can appreciate how the bottom at least flows into the console it still looks terrible. It almost looks like it blocks part of the AC vents. LOVE the rest of the car!!! I wish the 911 Turbo / S sounded as good as the GT.. That v8 GT sound.. GLORIOUS!!!

I have the SL and had concerns about how I’d feel about the screen, but after having the car for a while I really like it. All the functions of the screen can be accessed by the steering wheel controls or the MB assistant.

How do you remove those 5mph bumpers around the license plate?

I was just looking at this car, a black model, at the Mercedes dealership at Elmbrook the other week. Thought to myself I wonder when this video will come out 😂Great video.

great video! the new gt is beautiful, but for the same price i’d rather have a previous generation GTR PRO etc. but i have seen and heard of an ‘S’ variant being tested in the nurburgring rumored to have around 640HP!, can’t wait to see that

First AMG GT was a 1600kg true sports car and the rival of 911. The new one is just a 2000kg Mercedes SL with a hardtop, an autobahn cruiser and not a sports car. Shame on AMG

Unfortunately people like me want a tourer with sporty spice and style and I think this is who AMG is trying to get with this. I'm not sure AMG was successfully pulling away Porsche buyers effectively

It may be a good car for Grand touring, but it *_will be_* horrible on track in comparison to literally anything else. It is a pig of a car, idc if you have a million miles on it already, you can't deny the laws of physics.

Yes, wait until warranty expires then a simple ECU tune bumps you to over 600HP/ 620 torque and the 55 will do sub-3 0-60.

911 still destroys this in performance but still a nice car

The exterior has really grown on me. But I could never live with the interior. I want more raw. Less screen. More buttons. I hate how nice the interior is.

I just found out that the 2016 and 17 models goes for around 60 to 70k and right now my goal after collage is to get one

Imo among amg’s, it’s the 20’ s63 amg coupe

What's the biggest differences between the 55 and 63? I've heard many different things from it only being hp differences to the 63 having the amg active ride and 55 not having it along with a few others. I'm trying to gauge whether or not the 63 is worth the extra cash vs just getting the 55. Assuming I can spec it like the SL I can just tac on the front lift and a few other things I want and save a ton of money vs just getting the 63.

If you add the performance package to the 55 you have the same car except for the tune of the motor. And I’m pretty sure they sandbag the HP on the 55 by 25-30 or so. I’m doing 3.5-3.6 0-60’s versus the factory quoted 3.8/3.9. IMHO the sport seats are more comfortable than the luxury seats in the on reviewed here.

Basically nothing. Same with SL 55 vs SL 63. Just tuning of the same v8 engine for 63. 55 makes way more sense for daily use and you get v8 sub 4 seconds

If you option the performance trim of the 55 those mechanical items are equivalent. 63 has that as standard

If you add the performance package to the 55 you have everything except the horsepower. I have a new SL 55 equipped that way and love it.

HI, AMG had to turn off the EMO-Start, because of CO2 regulations!

Whoa….I was genuinely thinking about trading in both my GLC63 & my 911 turbo for one of these, but I’m shocked I’m only giving up 175lbs for all the extra space and practicality on the GLC. Kinda makes it not worth it, may as well keep my current 4 car solution.

On a scale from 1 to 10, if 1 = "bad" and 10 = "the best V8-Sound you know of a modern 2020 car" , where do you guys see this GT55/63-V8-Sound?❤‍🔥🔊❤‍🔥

Shame its literally more expensive than any 911 GTS trim or under. Absolutely not worth it over a 911.

don’t like the gill accent. it suits the mustang not this car

Nice car but no longer special.. what makes a 911 special is it gets its own bespoke engine amongst the models. Amg engines are thrown at every model on their line up from sedans to SUVs . Also 4300lbs is unforgivable.
