2 Month Old Mini Twist Takedown
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hello beautiful people! In this video, I’ll be taking down my 2 month old mini twist and will be giving you tips that I believe helps minimize breakage. Like I mentioned, the take down part of any hairstyle is THE most important process of them all. So, I hope you all enjoy and I will see you’ll again soon. 💛

I finally see someone who's hair is in layers like mine.
Twists are my signature style. I tend to do them bigger (not mini). I usually leave them in for 2-3 weeks before I take them down, wash my hair, and then reinstall. This minimizes the install/take down time and tangles.

That sounds like a great routine 😊
when people ask me what my hair type is i say its type mini twist because i live in them. LOL! my hair is in them 90% of the time. The safest protective style for me and very versatile like you said. :)
You take them down so patiently. I usually end up cutting out knots, which is not the best idea. Thanks for the tips.
I am currently on a mini twist challenge til the end of the year. I am washing and reinstalling every 2 weeks. I really love the versatility of styling as well, I just hate old looking twists so retwisting every 2 weeks works for me

I am too, been doing it since September. I've noticed a little growth/ length since then but time will tell. I'm giving myself one year.

Yeah that seems to be the best thing to do. But if you have 150-200 twists in it’d take very longggg to retwists.😮💨 always trade offs
I’m absolutely loving your mini twists series, your energy, your joy. This is truly beautiful 💗💗

The first time i did mini twist it was bad but then i tried again and now I'm in love with my mini twist and i usually wash my hair in mini twist and is sooo easy for me to wash them in mini twist and i love mini twist and your videos is so good and im learning alot from your videos and i have been natural for 2years and im still learning how to take care of my hair but now i love mini twist
Yes! You promised you would. 😊
Definitely enjoyed this video, thank you for uploading.
Love your spirit it's so pretty❤ and i just took down almost 1 month twists that were larger. And fenugreek mixed in a conditioner gives soooo much slip and helps the detangling. Thanks for sharing queen 😊

Thank you so much 💛🤗 Ouu! Love the tip!
Beautiful video Sis ❤
I'm so fast and rough when removing my mini twist, thanks now l understand what caused alot of breakage, do it slow and gentle
Had minitwists in for the last month. I loved them but boy I don't think I'll be doing them again any time soon. When I decided I was gonna wash and redo them, I was so unmotivated that I just washed them, uncoiled and wore them as a twist out. It was cute for a week then I knew I needed to actually detangle them or I would have permanent free-form locs. Enter disaster! I spent like 2.5 hours in the shower mostly combing and brushing them out with handfuls of conditioner. I couldn't go the finger detangling route cos I would be the for another 5 hours. In that moment I knew this style just wasn't for me anymore. With how unmotivated I am to do my hair these days, I will never torture myself like that again. But it was HELLA cute tho😭

I feel you right there. My hair locs up in twists after barely a week however, I usually braid the root first, unravel it from the opposite direction and I use African Pride Prepoo to detangle it. If you don't like a store-bought detangler, you can diy okra gel or marshmallow root or slippery elm. These will help with your detangling and you can use a slippery conditioner like Aussie 3min...extremely slippery!

Use oil. Mist your hair, not drenched and use oil to unravel and detailed. So much better than condition and wetting your hair like crazy

I had the same exact experience. Kept mediums-sized twaids in for a little less than three weeks. Some of them matted up so badly and i thought jumping in the shower immediately after takedown would help loosen the knots but it caused more reactivity in those knots that they got even worse!! To the point where I started freaking out and brushing thru my hair more aggressively for fear that it was going to get worse the longer it sat there. Needless to say I think had I been more patient and thorough in the takedown process, finger detangling with a little but of pre poo I would've been fine but hey, hindsight's 20/20 😆

you should probably be doing regular big twists then imo, i would never do mini twists either because of the way they tangle over time.
LaLolliDee, great video 😮❤😂thanks

Hey giirrrlll! 👋🏾💛
Shed hair is normal we shed hair every day. As long as it’s not breaking off in short pieces your okay. Apply conditioner and allow it to sit (something with protein ) pieces that are long with the white bulb attached is fine. ❤beautiful young lady good luck 0:15
So much easier to take down hair misted with water, not drenched, with some oil. When wet, it shrink like crazy to me.
This is the downside to mini twist😊😊
I did microtwistd 😅 like mini mini twists and I neeeed them to stay for 2 months without dreading. 🤣
What’s ur hair type?

Kept mine in for less than a week and it started locking but nothing too crazy I was able to catch it. Kept some previous ones in for a little over two weeks and some knots were too far gone 😪had to rake thru them/ cut it out
