Man, I'm loving my new Colt AR-15A4 20" barrel!! It was real hard to find.

I carried an M4 Colt government model in Southern Helmand for 7 months and with my own personal polymer magazines it never failed me once including the days I had to put about 700 rounds through it. Colt is the shit.

I carried a M16A2 & M16A4 when I was in the Army. The only differance was the A4 had a removable carry handle and Knights Armament quad rail instead of handguards.

I want one so bad! Can't go wrong with Colt

Army issued them as well, mainly to the infantry. I carried one with an acog, KAC rail, PEQ2A, and KAC vertical grip. Loved that rifle.

It's refreshing to see a m16a2 looking rifle instead of all the over moded carbines people have these days. The 20" barrel and 1 in 7 twist rate are great for the 62 grain green tips.

I've been wanting to get this one for an eternity and finally saw them in stock for $1,179 at buds. I'm also eyeing the Colt LE-6933 SBR as well, which breaks my heart because I can't get both right now and I think finding the 6933 is more tougher than the a4; not to mention the class III drama. Great video!

nice review bro, i am a ak guy and am stupid dumb about the ar in general, i want a full length ar and thought about picking one up from budsgunshop, i was torn between this one you are reviewing and the Windham Weaponry R20GVTA4S-7. i was doing some research on both and i seen at least on buds that the windham has all 5 stars but the colt model has a alot of 1-5 star ratings across the board and i wanted you option of these rifles in general since both look very nice and slightly under 1k.

I currently have a Colt H-bar (20 inch) . In Maryland you can only purchase an AR-15 with a heavy barrel. Is this a heavy barrel? USMC Semper fi

Mine didn't have the ambi safety and had handling marks but worth every penny.

Also, the USMC M16A4 comes with the heavy barrel rather than the regular barrel the AR15A4 come with.

The standard issue M16A4 and the Colt AR15A4 both use chrome lined Gov't profile barrels with 1/7 twist.

Chrome lined barrel? Gas key properly staked? Mpt tested etc?

The m4 carbine may be great for military and police SWAT units, but for civilian use I'll take the ar15a4. I would consider this a last option for home defense due to over penetration.

I'm not too familiar with the Colt AR15 versions. What is the difference, if any, between the one you show and the LE6920 model? TIA

Differences: AR15A4 barrel is 4" longer, has a rifle length gas system, fixed stock, is longer overall both behind the receiver and in front of the receiver. Advantage of a rifle length gas system is it is moderately softer shooting. The fixed stock and longer barrel - especially the longer sight radius - lead to slightly increased accuracy potential. Both can be customized to your hearts content if you wish to do so. M4 pattern carbines such as the LE6920 are much more popular nowadays and have a slight advantage when it comes to aftermarket options. The fixed A2 stock is also a little long for some who are shorter in stature, have shorter arms or tend to wear thick heavy clothing. The adjustable stock length on the LE6920 may make sense if your spouse or children may be using it as well. You can put an adjustable length stock on the AR15A4 or any A2 pattern rifle, but you must replace the receiver extension (a.k.a. buffer tube) with a carbine model as well as the spring and buffer before being able to install the stock itself. Hope this helps!

Does this have the enlarged trigger pins that colt rifles sometimes have?

I wish you could buy one with permanent (part of the upper) carry handle the old ones from the 70s.

I have one -- great for nostalgia/collecting, but terribly impractical. Trying to scope it, sight it in is a pain, then you have to walk around with a rifle and scope that's 2 feet high (slight exaggeration). I would take a flat top anyday.

I've seen a carbine variant brand new in some gunstores! Not the same as this guys video. They were the cheapest option too at about $800 OTD .

Watch Ryder As far as cheapest, I think the new Ruger AR-556 will be cheapest at about $650. I have a review coming on it.

Hmm, they didn't have those ones in. I'm sure the cheapest was about $700 - $750 but I'd need to revisit it sometime to check that store again.

Watch Ryder They might not be out on shelves yet, they're very new. Good rifle though, especially for the price. I think the MSRP on the Ruger website was $750, which means retail will be around $650.

Damnit. Had to take this phone call.... Tune in next week for a much better video review. Seriously, his other one is way better, more in depth. He does a great job

+762x51n8o If it has it, that is a most sought after AR-15 A4 that colt has commercially ever made. Without the F-FSB is still desireable but not as much as the other one. It's already stop-production right now.

Just got the 15A4 1050$ the detach carry is smaller inside with gloves not going to fit barely with bare hands ! The A1 was the best they should have left it alone just be cause some ass hole general does not want a troop having the choice of full auto
