This was my old stomping ground. I lived 2.5 miles south of the spillway and used to kayak to my house. There are some nice fish in that lake and I caught a few of them. I’m not going to post the locations on a public forum. It really is the best lake in central Ohio . I moved to Florida 7 years ago and still miss sitting out on that lake all night.

I absolutely love this lake. There are great bank spots but half require some walking. It’s a tough lake until you get it dialed in and then there really isn’t another I’d go to in the area. Delaware warms up first but when Hoover heats up I caught fish all year

Nice... I caught my first blue from here and been hooked ever since... myself, I usually get skunked but I never give up so we shall see... just alot of shoreline to figure out... I like fishing away from people so they don't cross me and whatnot

That area you went into towards the beginning and couldn't find a bite until you came out........ I have spots like that at my 2 main close lakes, and one spot really in particular. It has sticks and parts of downed trees in this cove off the main part, grass on the shore, weeds growing up from the bottom, and overall I rarely get a bite. Caught a small bass there and a huge channel cat probably spawning both a few weeks apart, but in the year that I have tried it repeatedly while moving around, absolutely nothing else. I just sit there thinking, "How can there not be fish in this area."

Can you tell me the brand of base that you have holding that fishfinder please? Thank you.

How are you turning your trolling motor on and adjusting speed and whatever else? I see yours and other boaters in person when I go out not even touch it and I can't figure it out. Ya'll have like a remote control or something?

There was a huge carp die off a few years back on Hoover that reduced their population a lot.

Wow, you mentioned Cowan Lake, my favorite lake to fish. I lived up there for 9 years, I now live in norther Kentucky, I still go up there when I can. Cowan is also a 10 hp lake, but watch out for the sailboats if they are out.

Those sailboats are pretty ridiculous. I saw a few out doing their thing while I was up there.

Justin, Cesars Creek in Ohio has been stocking blue cats for a while now and should have shovels as well. 115 ft max depth there but no HP limit

You might need to get a fold up wagon to haul your batteries and such when staying at a hotel. Gotta take it easy these days 👍 You could put your logos on the sides of it too. Just say'n

i use my 4foot 6 ultra-light for cat fishing, 15-18 pounds on 4 pound mono, using a 3000 to 4000 size spanning reel

Hey justin, I live about 15 min. From hoover and fish it a lot for the Buffalo carp go north of the boardwalk under the bridge towards the mouth of the creek in the mud flats, also if you need a cast net I've got a few I could donate one to you

Old duthman baitshop does sale frozen shad and frozen skip jack but the skip jack is rather expensive

Trolling with a 1/16 oz jig and a twister will help you find the fish. If whatever is biting on twisters is there then everything feeding on whatever will not be far

The Ohio state Buffalo record came out of Hoover.

The area is called lake of the woods. Across the lake from red bank. Not my favorite spot but ok. Bass fishermen love it. I do better elsewhere

Fishing Hoover, you have to beware on the twin bridges ramp. The ramp and dock are nice, but the dinosaur size buzzards will trash your car. They leave 10 pounds of crap and tear off the weather stripping from around your windshield.

Justin I know you swear by that Gulp Minow but it ain’t getting the job done. I believe you should try something else or you will not have any bait for catfishing!
