I don't target them, but i caught a large mouth just under 2 pounds a few weeks ago on a minnow and it made the best fish sandwiches.

People shouldn’t look down but most of the time bass are trophy fish but they are just as good as any. People just like to see them get big is the thing g

@@Rob23x It's just dumb because those same people who don't want you eating bass would have no problem with eating big catfish or big crappie.

We live in Southwest Louisiana and when our kids were little and hunting crawfish, they would get all excited when they would catch what they called, "Big, red snappers." A lot of our crawfish have red on them and they can be feisty. One day, I got back home to find our dogs going crazy out in the dog yard. (I used to raise and show Yorkshire Terriers.) Being little terriers, they were going nuts and acting like they wanted to kill something. As I walked up to the door, I saw this very large, "red snapper," had gotten onto the carport and up by the door to the dog yard. It was there, brandishing its claws at the dogs. Now, Yorkies don't usually know how small they are, but neither did the crawfish. I "rescued" the crawfish and put it back out in the shallow ditch out front, telling it it was so scary and I couldn't have it scaring our dogs. LOL! I was just being tactful to the little monster, while I was wishing I had a sack full of more crawfish its size to boil...🤣

Honestly i just wanna say, you & your brother’s vids helped me out last year when i had went through cardiac arrest at age 25, & all my functions had failed & restarted. I was going through dialysis & i would watch your videos for the next 2-3 hours throughout my time. I don’t get to catch many very often in my area but when I do I will definitely keep a couple with in the size limits for sure!!! Hey Micah, I've been watching you for I don't know how long at this point, but here in South Florida you can keep blue crabs male and female no size limit one reg is females with eggs have to go back that's it and your allowed up to I believe it's a 10 gallons whole per harvester per day

Looks like the bass you were confused on look like smallie/largemouth hybrid aka meanmouth. The jaw line, color and lateral lines make me lean towards that.

Largemouth and smallmouth are invasive in my area and eat salmon smolt. People here either feed them to the eagles, eat them, are used for fertilizer, or thrown in the bushes. I kill some every year, although I don't ever waste them like some do by chucking them in the bushes.

The one you got the first day was a largemouth. The second day was a smallmouth. The pattern on the body is pretty obvious. I’ve caught a lot of both. Though i guess we dont have the spotted bass up here

Definitely small mouth bass and very nice size
