2 Day Trip to Matsushima & Sendai Directly from Narita Airport | japan-guide.com

Learn more about Matsushima and Sendai:
www.japan-guide.com/list/e120...
In this video we are heading directly to Miyagi Prefecture from Narita Airport by overnight bus. On the first day we'll explore the Shiogama area, known for it's fish market and shrine. Then take a pleasant cruise through Matsushima Bay past the many pine covered islands that dot the bay. Lastly we'll explore the quaint port town of Matsushima.
On day two we head to the big city of Sendai where we ride the Loople Sendai bus to many famous spots including Zuihoden and Aoba Castle. We end the day and trip walking through the large shopping arcade which leads back to Sendai Station.

    Well, 4 years later I finally made it to Sendai! Watching this video now after visiting these sights brings a tear of joy to my eye. Raina, you knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. Sendai and Matsushima were brilliant, definitely recommend this trip if you get the chance ❤

    Just been to both these places (Sendai & Matsushima) in Nov 2018 ! This vid brings back fond memories of our trips and nice places that we had visited there. Sendai is a lovely city. With a population of just over 2mil, it is not as crowded as bigger cities like Tokyo or Osaka, but at the same time still has all the essential city attractions such as outdoor Japanese-styled covered walking shopping streets, lots of malls & eateries, places of attraction etc etc. It is kinda similar to Kyoto (another lovely smaller city of Japan). From Sendai, we took a train to Matsushima Kaigan Station to visit the famous quaint little coastal town of Matsushima. The train journey took only abt 40 mins. In Matsushima the atmosphere/vibes are totally different from those big bustling Japanese cities. Here everything is at a much more relaxed pace and the surroundings put one in a very serene and peaceful mood. Visited the famous Entsuin Temple, the well-known red-colored Fukuurabashi Bridge that links to an offshore island , and also had a cruise around the Matsushima bay. Sendai & Matsushima will def be one of those places that I had visited which I will fondly remember for many years to come. Tks for the vid ! :)

    At the middle of the video, in the super of Japanese words, there is a wrong wording i.e. ヤシ( palm tree) should be pine tree as the narration says. Matsushima is not in Hawaii. I always enjoy watching the series,. Toyama and Kurobe are very impressive.

    The night buses can be less of a hassle than the trains and you also usually arrive before the first trains, which gives you the opportunity to maximize your travel time. They are also usually around half the price of the trains (and you eliminate an entire night of hotel fees), so you can save a lot of time AND money by using night buses.

    So really your ‘day 1’ spans across two days: day 1 being the arrival in Narita and day 2 being the day you physically arrive in your destination. It’s slightly misleading to call it a two day trip - it’s not possible to cover what you did in 48 hours..

  • @vlo4829

    @vlo4829

    5 жыл бұрын

    For a lot of people, "Day 1" is just arriving, though, so it is still realistic and calling it a "3 day trip" is not accurate. I guess it's a 2 day overnight trip.
