Thank you so much for making this wonderful video showing us these hidden gems in Tohoku! I prefer the less well-known areas of Japan because they feel more authentic and unique than the mass-consumption-focused Tokyo. That's not to say that Tokyo is bad, more that it's only a very narrow aspect of what Japan has to offer. So thank you again for showing us the places off the beaten path in Japan!

My wife and I were in Japan for 3 weeks last year. We spent 10 days in Kyoto, 2 days in Tokyo and the rest in Niigata and Sado island. Rural Japan is so beautiful! We were there in the fall and it was amazing to watch people harvesting rice by hand, fishing in small sail boats with nets and picking amazing fruit from incredibly manicured orchards. It was like traveling back in time to the Meiji era.

I was there just one year after the earthquake and tsunami and visited also a few of the towns worst affected by it, and I was struck by how friendly and welcoming the locals were despite all the hardships they were in and I want to go back. Best and most memorable trip I made during my three years studying in Japan.
