It’s time to bring home the last 2 cars to the new Snow Family Racing garage. The 1985 Buick Regal and the 1956 Oldsmobile 88 are the last 2 cars to bring home. There’s a catch, I only have a trailer for one car, the other will need to be driven 1100 miles home by my wife! The Regal has some real sentimental value to me and the Olds has been in my wife's family since it was new in 1956. It’s time they came home where they can get the attention that they need!
The Regal has a it’s original 3.8 Buick V6 while the Olds has its 324 cubic inch Olds Rocket complete with original 2 bbl carb which hasn’t run or moved under its power in almost 40 years. The Regal was new the last time this Olds ran. Let that sink in for a moment. The good news is that the Regal has been sitting for a little over 6 months, so all of it’s systems like brakes should still be in good working order.
The Regal came to life with a jump pack and ran far better than I expected it to. A quick drive around the block let me know that I could be confident that it wasn’t going to leave me stranded. After the Regal had it’s fluids changed, it was time to get the Olds loaded into the trailer being pulled by my motorhome.
The Olds rolled and steered, brakes went to the floor. The only braking was sliding it into park… Not a great idea, but better than nothing! Once it was nestled into the trailer and tied down, the drive could begin!
The drive was not without its problems, but luckily we made it home! You’ll need to check out the video to see what perils lie in wait on the road!

Nothing catastrophic happened, so it's a win! The Olds will definitely be a long-running project. I've got a few projects that need to get done before I start tearing into it.

The 1st 2 cars I bought for my wife were an 83 Black Ttype Regal and a 84 root beer brown Regal . The 83 had developed a rod Knock at 66k miles and had broken t top. Built the 84 with a warmed up small block and a 200R4 with 2.28 posi. That car would fly.

Broken glass from window guide on a pillar. If the doors cracked or window is loose it will hit it when slammed shattering window. Luck you didn’t get glass in lock mechanism. Had to cut hole in my door to remove. Found one for $25 back in the early 90s

That door is shot. Everything in it is just worn out and loose. I've got a better loaded door to put on in the short term and a really good one in primer. It was halfway down when when it was closed and destroyed itself. Of the hundreds of times I've closed the door like that, this was the one where it went really bad.

That one's a but rusty and the window was not a solid as it should be. Probably hit just right.
