The golf is the better looking car but the interior really frustrates me.. I much prefer the previous gen MQB interior.

Honestly this car looks more like rather level above the VW, not below. Seats look fantastic, also I like dash and steering wheel more than Golf. It reminds the Audi A3 prev generation - sporty and classy look, interior isn’t over styled(hello Merc), no fake exhaust tips, buttons instead of touchscreens - it just works

I currently own the mk3.5 face-lift 290. I think it's a brilliant daily and quick enough once on the move. The spec is great as standard, think this one is a winner too for me.

Love your reviews. You truly are a car lover who isn't full of himself and keeps the focus on the car. Many thanks.

They've actually done it. Seat is making an fr version with 204hp, and I've heard rumors (maybe not true) that the 245 is too gonna become a seat from 2022 depending on sales

@@nikolaoschroneas1986 Really? Because I think the Cupra 1.4 hybrid is probably gonna boost sales and exposure by a lot. Every new Cupra or Seat I see is that 1.4 hybrid with 245hp

@@Tomoyo0827 who cares?! …if you can afford car like this one, then service cost and all sort of potential repairs including parts/labour should by in your budget. Don’t live above your means, don’t stress and be happy 😃.

The estate looks fabulous, hope you can do a review on that model, when it comes out.

I've had a mk3 and a mk3.5 great cars. Although I said I wouldn't get another, this is really tempting . Appreciate the early review. Definitely get another when they are released for a more indepth review.

Lots of interesting conclusions, especially re the Hybrid model. Ties in with my own experience with my Cupra 280 vs. a Golf GTE Mk7 I had the opportunity to drive years ago. Love your way of presenting, really spot on! Especially considering the short amount of time you had to film this. Hats off!

Really like this car, and SEATs in general. Only issue vs VW is that residual values aren’t as good so they make more sense as a nearly new purchase than brand new. Great review, again! 👍🏼

Really good you're getting involved in such a release even for 4 hours. Trust your opinion on a hot hatch above more magazines / sites etc.

Lovely Video again. But what about the sound? Especially compared to the GTI Clubsport 🤔

I have 2018 Seat Leon Cupra 300 hatchback, which is 99% same car, just a little lighter (1340kg) and with different interior. After mild stage 1 tune (335hp) and giving it some solid tyres I can't think of a better blend between daily (hello DCC) and fun machine on corners and b roads. Hell, even track days! Highly recommend, also love the cupra styling here :)

This thing looks proper. Makes me wonder who signed off on the new Golf design, and were they drunk?

For they money this looks like a better deal if your considering the golf when it comes to spec and performance but I think ultimately it will come down to what badge you want on the front.

Love the look of this and a very attractive price point. One thing to note is this video is based on the Spanish spec which offers different colours and wheels and options etc. UK version is VZ3 with black wheels and NO Cupra button on the steering wheel and the DSC button is replaced with an engine start button. No where near as cool as that spec sadly. Still an awesome car though!

I had the previous Seat Leon Cupra 290 on a 3 year lease, not much to fault. The new Cupra Leon looks even better, and pretty sure its quicker than the quoted 0-60 time!

Another top review Joe 👍🏻 Not sure about the brake stats though? Current RS3 has 8 pots, not 4..

I love you reviews.. very objective and honest...If you could go on some kind of track a compare some cars, hot hatches or sports cars, it would add one dimension more because you are objective....Very good

Like the style and presentation of your videos Joe so well done 👍🏻(Harry Dakar’s vids great but a bit repetitive ...”and then you’ll join me on my favourite stretch of road” - the one you borrow occasionally 🥴). Maybe a bit more subject variety away from VW/BMW products... Also about an hour away from this road so will have to go and sample either on my motorbike or my Fiesta ST(interestingly you mentioned value for money and fun at legal speeds - the little Fezza excels at both).

The front end has an Audi vibe to around the headlights and sloping hood(bonnet).

Nice video. A video with just sound of the car would be nice. Cupra mode, launch control

So many of the usual favourites like the Golf are full of design or user interface issues or have poor styling. Glad to hear that the Cupra had some less fussy buttons and much better looks than the Golf or S3. Would love a manual though

Thanks for another great Cupra review Joe. If only we could get the Cupra line up in Canada. The latest batch if VW's 😴 are dull and poorly finished. Cupra/Seat have great designs and fit and finish and equipment level are better than VW now. I feel like VW has lost its way(this coming from someone that has owned 6 VW over the years).

I'm confused. Is this press car on passive or adaptive suspension? I've seen other reviews stating it's passive.

Plus I like the look of the Formentor even more - have I lost my mind? What am I saying?

Is the software fault ridden like the golf?

You can let the gearrbox be remapped to not let it shift itself anymore at the redline.

The problem is this is the eu spec not the uk spec, from what I believe we in the uk are not getting the Brembo brakes, those wheels, that colour paint work, the mode buttons on the steering wheel and I’m not sure about the quad exhausts either. I’m a bit disappointed as I was looking to change from my 2018 Leon Cupra

Club sport is balls to the wall theres no way vag will let its little brother be better. Regardless of that great video Joe 👍

I look forward to you testing the Formentor with the Audi 5 cylinder engine when it's available

Just upgraded from the previous version of the Cupra to the PHEV version, it’s a wonderful car, don’t know why Joe gives it such a hard time. Yeah it’s down on power compared to my last car, but in the real world where you have to pay taxes and for gasoline, having the option to drive on electric makes this car one of the best value propositions out there.

I’d rather that then the golf 👍🇦🇺

Too bad SEAT isn't available in the States. This León looks so, so, so much better than all of it's siblings.

Maybe they can add a few more things to the steering wheel.....

Looks brilliant, but the two things that make it look so standout are the wheels and the paint which aren't available in the UK! Real shame.

somehow looks miles better than its sister Golf on the outside... the exterior is bang on. Too bad it's a bit bland inside

This may grow on me, but I prefer the styling of the previous gen Leon

I dont see how this is any better than the old model. They didnt even give it more power or AWD. But you get less sound and a more complicated infotainment system.

@@formentorvz5 well, most of the car is the same. But the wheelbase is longer. And the engine has some new parts, like a new turbo. In reality is even more powerful than before, as seen in the golf r.

I'm looking at moving back into Spain and this is definitely on my short list.

Thanks Joe, You must of read my mind for this review :-) . I'd have a Cupra, quite like them and currently have a Cupra 290 and considering this or a BMW 128ti in the list for its replacement.

@@latlak :-) The 2019 Leon Cupra is a bit quieter but can be provoked a bit to pops and bangs whilst in Cupra and manual mode. I was actually worried before car arrived as I normally leave home around 5-6am and didn't want to upset the neighbors, lol.

i really liked cupras being seat cupra, not cupra alone
