Great bike .Dirt cheap on spares. Bulletproof engine More fun to ride than many other bikes .Also easy to work on and looks good although think the earlier loop framed ones look better .

Me having never rode before. Would you reccommend riding a 125 for a year or 2 or doing my direct access and jumping on a bandit? My cousins both have bandits and say they are a great learning bike and riding a 125 for a year is just added cost

Might be my second bike. I have a speed triple. So not a good bike to help someone learn?

Hi Cestrianvlogger, I like the bars you have fitted, can you tell me what is the exact Renthal description? e.g. low, ultra low, medium, high etc. I've recently bought a mk1 with drag bars fitted but I much prefer higher, wider bars, I'm not keen on bandit stock bars either but I am keen to avoid over stretching the stock cables as you mentioned. Thanks, regards Dave.

Unfortunately they were on the bike when i bought it and they don't have any branding so are generic, i was having a lot of back pain issues when i bought the bike and fitted some 30mm bar risers and their is just enough slack for the wires to not stretch and i've found after installing the risers the bike feels much better to handle and less painful

He no longer rides which isn't surprising in the Dystopian urbanised landscapes of the Uk Dk and no wonder motorcycles are a dying breed as most roads are Death traps compared to the eighties and nineties

These things go for ever. Put a new rear shock on it and just ride the thing. I've been all over Europe on mine, keeps up with lots of ridiculously expensive modern kit and it's more fun to ride!

You could do that, in the end i sold the bandit, had a GPZ500 but now i have a Kawasaki Ninja ZX9R (1998) and for a sportsbike its really comfy, can plant my feet on the floor and is a great ride, do miss the bandit, but its worth a try to get rid of some foam and reupholster it, seen some nice seat covers for the bandit on ebay as well

129 mph ? they do more than that .... and if you disconnect rocker breather hose off airbox and leave it dangling or put a septate filter on end , should stop it freezing up as they tend to breath condensation in winter otherwise

The only thing that seams to be an issue for me is seizing up front brake callipers. I have 2 sets, one pair on the bike, and a second pair in a box. Then when one piston seizes up I can just take it off and fit a good one, and send the stuck one away to be fixed.

Based on what you’ve said, you must have spent ~$1000 on chain/sprockets, valves, carbs, tyres etc in a 3 month period. Worth it?
