Great video, thanks for doing this. Have a 98 Trooper. I've done the coils, so the rear is squared away ... torsion bars are next. My question is, what lift (floor jack/lift) are you using? That was pretty slick, I'm out here with floor jacks trying to lift my trooper one corner at a time ... picking the entire truck up would be sweet. Thanks!

Hi Robb,. I have enjoyed your videos of work you have done on Shrek, and am in the process right now of putting the Old Man Emu (OME) springs, part #2929, for a 1.5-2" lift, and matching shocks (Old Man Emu "Nitro-Charger" shocks, Part # 60074). I bought them from Desert Rat, in New Mexico or Arizona - somewhere down there in Road Runner country. Right now, I am stopped because I don't have a spring compressor, and think I will have to un-do the sway-bar links to get it to drop a little more and let me shove the new, longer coils in, "tight" coils on top. I'm operating with pretty basic tools, open/box combination wrenches, with pipes for cheater-bars and lots of WD40 to tell the old shock-post threads to cut that "binding" shit out. I have no hoist or anything fancy, just using a little 8-ton hydraulic jack to get the ass end of the Trooper up in the air, then holding it up there with stacked concrete pier blocks under the frame at each trailing arm front mount. Seems pretty steady and safe. Front tires have a brick in front and back so it won't just roll the f--- away. Dirt (gravel) work area. Being an old retired fart, I am going slowly on this ... because I can. It's a "Gee! I've never DONE this before" job, so I am being patient, and making sure I know what others have dealt with. Thanks for sharing YOUR experiences. I appreciate it. Now to get back out there before the Seattle area rain starts up. Mother Nature is tricking us here with a little sun and breezes, into getting some outdoors stuff going on, so she can laugh at us and bring on the rain. Typical... Again, thanks.

@@robbo6460 Update: i used a bottle jack between the axle and frame to push the axle down about one inch. That is what my Trooper needed to slip the new spring in with no sweat. I gradually let the pressure out of thw little bottle jack as I checked the top of thw spring to make sure it stayed in position, then started looking at the OME 60074 shock. It was a bitch pounding thw top bushing into the shock, but I heated thw bushing in boiling water to soften it, then pounded the bitch in. Next, I looked at the fit with the top bolt, and it had a lot of slop! WTF, over? I am in contact with ARB about why they didn't send me a sleeve to fit between the 19-20mm ID of the rubber bushing and the 14mm diameter of the non-threaded part of the bolt. If I had a machine shop I would just make a f-ing sleeve and move on. But I don't. (I have been a machinist in my many lives) So, I am stopped for now, while the clouds spit rain on me from time to time, and I put my "driveway mechanic" tools away for now, until I figure out a sleeve for the bushing and bolt.
