Got to be one of the best F1 races ever, it had a bit of everything. Rain, crashes, schumiee vs DC in the pit lane, Eddie Jordan skipping in ecstasy and a Damon Hill win. Just awesome.

The wider narratives of that season fed into it as well, with an epic title fight and Jordan's season of two halves. Plus Hill being cruelly denied Arrows' first win the year before, and his own history with Schumi. I think Ayrton Senna said the beauty of sport lay in the emotional ride it takes us on and this race delivered all of them. Could watch another million GPs and it would never be topped.

I started watching f1 on and off in 1996 as a kid, but it was watching this race live on tv that made me a fan for life. Being 9 years old and watching that mass pile up and all the drama, I thought it was the greatest thing ever.

Seconds before, when Schumacher arrived in the boxes, he literally throw, the steering wheel the his car.

I was 8 years old at the time of this race and wasn't really into F1, my dad was sort of a casual fan. He'd watch a race here and there but was never properly invested in it. Before this race i must have only watched 2 or 3 races but for some unknown reason me and the old man decided to sit down and watch the 1998 Belgian GP. Since then I've watched 7 GPs at Silverstone, been to Monza, Nurburgring and curcuit de Catalunya. Still hoping to get myself to this iconic race track one day! Will always have fond memories of this race!!

As an unapologetic Damon fangirl - even now - this is one of the best, and craziest, races of all time. What rarely gets mentioned is that despite the carnage at the start, and insane accidents later on, barring unreported (to the public) inevitable bumps and bruises, no one was injured. Not too many years before that, there would have been - at the very least - a number of hospitalisations. _That_ weekend in '94 (the one I hate remembering for obvious reasons) was only a few years before. Most of the drivers at Spa had been there. I would be _very_ surprised if no one had some sort of flashback or nightmare, during that moment, the race, or after it had all ended and they had physically moved on.

The car is celebrating

Remember watching this and being glued to my TV, incredible race.

Man, watching this live as a fresh face 18 year old! Who knew this was gonna be the greatest race ever. It was believable at the time.

Definitely one of the best classic GP ever!

And they called the race today

Coulthard came back to race after 10 minutes of fixing the car. There were only 6 cars driving so he hoped to score some points

Time travel

It was the race that best reflected the Formula 1 spirit. I was 13 when I watched this race. I am 38 years old now. and Formula 1 today is never the same as it was in the 90s.

I PREFER THIS THAN THE 2021 RACE

Post Belgian GP 2021, This is probaly why the FIA didn't want to start yesterday's race because they were worried chaos like this would happen or even worse
