Thanks for spending time here !
Appreciate these stories!
Thanks for the video! Harry Lauders Walking Stick Tree is actually a favourite track of mine. I always imagined it as the closing credits song for a spaghetti western that ends with the main character riding off into the sunset towards certain death.

Perfect place for that track ! Hopefully Aronofsky will keep it in mind if he ever makes Blood Meridian.
Another great video; thanks for sharing! I grew up in Lincoln Park Michigan and was part of the city's 50th anniversary celebration for the MC5 a few years back. Dennis Thompson played (Wayne couldn't make it) and we had a big exhibit at the city's museum where I was volunteering at the time. It was an honor!

At least they are getting respect somewhere....Incredibly, MC5 has been nominated for the the RocknRoll Hall of Fame 6 times and is still not in it....not that it matters !
Thanks again for these man. Really sweet information about a band that is/gonna end up vital in music history (but comparatively little information about this side of things relative to bands that last way less longer and not as interwoven in so many genre's) and your a key part in that plus all your other ventures. Your solo stuff helps me not kill people on a packed bus. quality stuff. Cheers.

" Your solo stuff helps me not kill people on a packed bus." Probably the best compliment I've ever received ! Glad to be of help, and thanks for watching/listening.
Greetings from Sweden! Keep it up. 👍

Hey Mark, love your bass playing your're an inspiration! - would love to (if you feel at all comfortable)talk about why you left the band
hey mark! huge fan, been playing bass since i was 14 and about to turn 18 and your work w the melvins has always been amazing to me. anyways, somewhat unrelated, do you remember what songs you guys played on the tour that happened in the fall of 1996?. my uncle and my father attended a show at the cactus club in san jose on october 5th 1996, they claimed it was the slowest show they've ever seen and that a guy next to them yelled at you guys to the point where you guys seemed freaked out or scared, i've always been suupeeerr curious to the material you guys played during that time because im a HUGE drone metal fan, i have the poster from that show up in my room even though i wasn't alive at that time. anyways, thanks for the years of influence on me! been playing shows for almost a year and your bass tone has always influenced me very much, i also really like these videos you've been putting out. thank you and have a good day!

My dad loves ZZ Top and used to see them back in the 70s!

In the 70's The Tops live were a force of nature. They always tore the roof off.
Me gusta tu canción one thousand delights, no puedo parar de escucharla

I will get to those eventually. Thanks for watching !
mark, this is completely unrelated but it just occurred to me to ask you this, do you remember playing on some foreign tv show sometime after honky came out and after a commercial break you and buzz both had an x drawn on your forehead with a sharpie and the host of the show said something about Charles Manson and buzz said “well we’re Charlie’s angels” and I believe there was a Jimi Hendrix cover in there somewhere. It used to be on KZread and I always thought it was hilarious. Can’t find it anymore though, maybe it was all in my head. If you know what I’m talking about I’d love to hear your story of that situation. Much love mark you’re the best!!

I have a vague memory of that...I know that I did a pretty long TV thing by myself for Honky PR in Germany maybe in late 97....thanks for watching and for that memory.

There used to be a video on here of that long special with just you by yourself, I loved that as well and you were so funny in it. I wish i could find that one also. I remember a part where you had a voodoo doll. Anyway, you’re incredible mark! I’ve recently been getting into your solo stuff, keep kickin ass!!
