Oddest thing about Paula was that she made close friends with Michael's strange financial people Diamond & young, even making them Tiger's god parents. These were the people who told the family that he had died penniless, but failed to list any of his man properties in his estate. They also never revealed what was sold to pay off ALL of Paula's debts, including 2 million in legal fees and provided her enough to never have to work and to buy 2 homes. Strange.

Sadly, she was the architect of her own demise. She madeher choices. I feel sorry for her children.

The case of what happened this family, is a tragic tale, and within it a stark warning. Paula went for Bob when he he young, cool & trendy. Through him she got the fame she wanted. She tired of Bob - maybe it grew stale - and she craved the attention elsewhere. She had fancied Hutchence for YEARS. Hutchence had a history of starting new relationships before the old ones were over. He had left Kylie for Helena, and possibly Helena for Paula. From my perspective where it all went wrong was Paula jumping ship on her marriage, and straight into the arms of a huge long standing crush, who didn't seem to be into her as she was him. She was desperate to hold on to Michael at all costs, and therein lay the foundation for future suffering; a child on the way while married to another man, causing so much hurt, betrayal, pain and anger. I think Michael felt trapped in the relationship with Paula. His band mate confirmed he was planning to leave her. His death destroyed her, and her death destroyed Paula's daughter Peaches. She had put her desires before the well being of her kids. So from mismanagement of relationships you can literally wipe out several lives. It's not worth it.

Child on the way while married to another man? So? She was legally separated and going through a divorce, had accused Bob of 6 affairs during their marriage and Bob already moved his girlfriend Jeanne in with him only a few short months after Paula moved out. So Bob moved in a new girlfriend while HE was still married to another woman and Jeanne moved in with a married man. Paula said Bob and Jeanne were dating from the 94 when they met on the set of BraveHeart. However, the press wanted to see Paula as the home wrecker so they ignored her side of the story. Lookk up what Claire King said about her affair with Geldof. They were not a stable couple.

What’s so crazy is that Paula & Micheal probably wouldn’t have lasted more than 1-2 years as a couple. Now they are both gone and for what? So sad.

I believe it begun to end the day he accepted the drugs he was offered. Apart from that, he was no saint and liked wild strong sex with his girlfriends. As his ex said about him, he was not an innocent baby. And he chose Paula over other women, to whom he cheated a lot.

@Inflow Yes :( Once I read a TShirt of Slash (Guns and roses musician) that said: "Live fast, die young" and that's how I feel most rock musicians live and end their lives. There are many tragic stories involving rock and pop musicians and unfortunately most of them fall on drugs, I hate drug dealers, they always go after musicians because they know they will fall into drugs, have dependance and they make a lot of money selling them the drugs, making them addicted and ruining their lives.

I think Michael was already on a downward slide. He had become increasingly irrelevant over the last few years of his life. I mean, he was barely able to get a booking at the local fair by the time he met mad Paula. I think he probably thought a high profile relationship with a famous tv presenter would help boost his publicity, but it didn't work and she was an absolute whore. I mean some of the stories that have come out.... Y'know? She was basically a cum soaked handkerchief by the time he met her. All very sad

l recall that she cried victim when the press compared her to Helena, but the press revealed that Paula was behind the stories as a way of getting sympathy from Michael, whom she dragged into her court problems. lnteresting too that they say M got her into drugs when she was into drugs long long before Michael and admitted it in her bio. The only time she & he were accused of doing drugs was when that horrble Gerry Agar and the nanny told the police and the media - at the same time - that they found drugs. THEN the police dropped all charges for lack of evidence. Horrible but maybe its Karma that she as lied about in the media after all the lies she put out there.

It must have been a brain injury for him to want Bob Geldof's sloppy seconds. But seriously, it was very insensitive for me to say that but maybe there is something to it. Things between him and Helena Christensen went down the tube because of his erratic and even violent behavior brought on by his brain injury. If Paul Yates was up to dealing with someone who had developed a dark side and began to indulge in darker experiences, then indeed the brain damage led to him getting involved in a situation that he might not otherwise have ever considered. I believe Yates enabled it and I believe that she went as far as to trap him. If getting pregnant isn't the ultimate trap, then what is? She was apparently obsessed with him and showed up at his concerts frequently. Something was going on with them for a long time in my opinion. It only must have spiraled out of control once she got pregnant and decided to leave sir Bob geldof. Maybe Michael did not realize what a scoundrel he would being made out to be. It certainly didn't get him the kind of attention he had so desperately seeked, to be respected as an artist and as a human being. Years of seeing his looks, reputation, Rockstar Fame, all in decline drives many a celebrity to walk the tightrope. No surprise when they fall. And to top it all off rumor has it that it was Yates who would tip off the press as to where they were going to be. She used Michael as a publicity stunt. I do think that he caught on to it but he was already in too deep. He did choose a final way out sadly

l don't think his drug use was a bad as some say. Friends noted he rarely did drugs after his head injury because he already had to take a lot of precription meds. In an old TV Weekly mag with the cover story "Michael Hutchence Slams Heroin Use: "Its a one way road" he says "to me heroin is the scorge of it all. That's the stuff that hurts really bad, in the short and the long term, if you survive. I don't know anyone who hasn't done that stuff who hasn't been affected by it, either by losing friends, or they're just not the same as they were and never will be."

Paula was a narcissist. She couldn’t even survive without all the attention on her. They are just like drug addicts, well she was that too. They have to suck up other people’s energy in order to function day to day. They are the worst people to ever be around. She loved all those cameras.

Ive watched footage of paula walking into court multiple times during their divorce proceedings and then having to come back from australia on her own to deal with even more accusations etc just to see the footage gives me the WORST ANXIETY just THINK not only having to go in and out of court is BAD ENOUGH but ONTOP of that to have the PRESS PURSUING HER LIKE A PACK OF WILD ANIMALS IS INSANE !!!!!!! No matter what people think or say what was put on both Michael & Paula was very unjust , cruel and just total carnage ! Just imagine and put yourself in that postion and to deal with this everyday how one could live and have or try to have a normal life is beyond Comprehension!!!!

Why did she not use a taxi to stop all the press intrusion? It looks to me as though she loved all the attn,good and bad...taking the man's kids away at Xmas as well..... Things could have been much more amiable for all concerned and perhaps led to a better outcome for all concerned..... It's all still very sad and hurtful in many/everyway imaginable in my mind.....

?? it was never for Christmas. Look up the Police Statement of Paula Yates and Belinda Brewin. It was for a few weeks before and after Xmas as she pursued a job offer. It was Bobs' year with the kids and they always planned to return to England for Christmas. that's why the judge moved the date to Dec 21st. They cancelled the fall visit to Austraila and were going to revisit the idea about going at the start of the year - and next school term - instead Also- Paula would arrive after Michael woudl be back on tour, so he wouldn't see her until Xmas anyway. this whole "couldn't stand to wait to see his baby" wasn't true. He had left England on Nov 4th, was photo graphed at the Viper club on Nov 5th in LA so he CHOOSe to leave England well before he had to be back in Australia for that part of the tour. The rumors were he and Paula were breaking up adn she was trying to follow him to Australia, and Michael didn't agree with her. She says in the police statement that he and she both met with Bob about Australia, but Michael wasn't at the meeting, it was Just Paula

Gosh I forgot how much she loved the attention. All that drama just to keep Michael hanging around when he really was over her

At least she wasn't cruel with custody and realised that kids need both birth parents.too much selfishness when women and men refuse access,untold lifelong damage to relationships. Not good father's or mother's to do that. Regardless of the situation there's always a way to share custody.

I remember thinking at the time as an uncool teenager that she always looked like she'd just left a party at 5am. Very cool and London. It's such a shame she couldn't hold on in grief.

We need to remember that there is a holy and just God in heaven, who hates the sins of covetousness and adultery, not least for the destructive effect that it has on the innocent parties, including the children. Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence acted unlawfully with respect to God’s moral law, and reaped a terrible whirlwind as a result.

Both Hutchence and Yates could not cope with the practical, emotional and relational consequences of their actions, and it seems that they were given over to their own particular character weaknesses and personal human frailties, which ultimately destroyed them both, and that most prematurely.

Does anyone know who wrote and/or put that note on the door which reads "I love you"? Why were they bringing flowers? Were the flowers from Bob or Michael?

Yes it was ! That haircut and style is still in fashion to this day! Actually not many people can pull that style of ! But on Paula, it looks AMAZING with her perfectly long neck ! her stunning jaw line! and not forgetting her perfectly shaped nose so feminine and perfectly straight ! Her profile is one of the best I've seen! Not many people realise that ! I can honestly say she was and still is (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful women i've seen ! Why ? Read the points i made above ! As for the hair style it's a classic cut it will NEVER loose it's style nor it's popularity ! If your lucky enough to be able to wear a cut and style like that ! Paula definitely got it right back in 1997 with that hair style it Complimented all her stunning features!

I love Paula's natural make up look. Its so refreshing to see someone with blonde eyelashes (like me) and not putting lots of black mascara on them. She let her natural fair colouring shine through. Paula was ahead of her time :)

@@anastaziak6621 I agree with your comment. I always thought Paula was naturally beautiful,smart and very witty. It really was a crying shame what happened. Seeing Paula's life spiralling out control, lost in her grief was very, very sad.

This must be during Paula and Bob's divorce proceedings. If this is 1996, Paula is preggers with Tiger Lily, her daughter with Michael Hutchence of INXS.

@@skygazer6898 yes, it is true that you can fall out of love with someone and in love with someone else, HOWEVER what ppl fail to often realize is that when you have children, ALL BETS ARE OFF and u should be thinking of their welfare AND HAPPINESS above yours, cause in the end...”being in love” is a state of mind and fleeting, but your actions have serious consequences on the offspring you bare. UNLESS you are being battered and bruised, you don’t F-OFF. Kids need both parents to be there for THEM 24/7, not part time, IMO. So if it can be helped, ppl should stick around and be THERE to raise the kids which is a 24/7 activity, TOGETHER with their partner. Give the kids you have the best chance in Life to grow up, loved, whole, centred, focused, and grounded, without the stress and drama that separation and divorce usually brings about. YES, kids can become ALL those things (grow up fine) with part-time parents too. But let’s be honest, they have a better chance of achieving it when both parents are present, hands on and actively participating in raising them together full time. If you doubt this, go review the data. The Family unit today has gone to cr@p in this throwaway society. It’s one reason why we’re all so apathetic, indifferent, disconnected and lost often seeking refuge in toxic substances etc. Values, responsibility, principles have all been trashed. We live by no laws of decency, and willfully immerse ourselves in debauchery without a moral compass. No one has a sense of Right and Wrong anymore, anything goes. I am not judging these ppl or their Lives, I don’t know them. Just making commentary on A WAY OF LIFE, that if you choose to have children, it should be reflected upon. THINK 50 million times before having a child. That Life will have a ripple effect on all OTHER lives afterwards it comes into contact with. If u get it wrong, that’s how many ppl YOU are effecting. If you take nothing away from having read all this, PLEASE, take have children seriously. It is serious business. If you are not ready and prepared to put yourself second, even third in the list of priorities after having a children then DON’T have them, live your carefree Life.

She was chasing Michael who didn't want to be in the UK anymore. bob wanted to break them up and was succeeding. It was only the two younger girls who were going to go (Fifi was in boarding school) and it was for a trial time for a few weeks before and after Christmas. Look up the Police Statement of Paula Yates. It was never for xmas but the press would later say it was to make it more dramatic. They always planned to return to England for xmas and that's why the judge said they'd revisit the idea of going to Australia or the new year, on Dec 21st. Also, Paula said she and Michael met with Bob on Nov 4, and Bob agreed to a trial stay in Australia as she pursued a job offer there, only to change his mind the next day. However, Michael was in LA on that date and there are photos of him at the Viper club on Nov 5th. Michael clearly did not agree with her IF paula had succeeded in chasing Michael to Australia, she would have arrived after the band started touring and wouldn't see him until they had to return to England for xmas anyway.

Why do people go on about her being pregnant while married? Bob was also still married to her when he moved Jeanne Marine in with him. You could also say Jeanne moved in with a married man and helped him with his custody battle. Paula accused Bob of 6 affairs during their marriage and said Bob and Jeanne were dating from the 94 when they met on the set of BraveHeart. However, the press wanted to see Paula as the home wrecker so they ignored her side of the story. Lookk up what Claire King said about her affair with Geldof. They were not a stable couple.

Loved seeing Paula with longer hair. She looked so much younger. She also had such an amazing sense of style. Michael was....well he was probably the most beautiful man to ever grace this planet. But, he was never, ever going to settle down with one woman. May they both RIP!

She could have been classy and say nothing. Still had to have a public dig patronising her children's father. Poor girls. All 4 of them. Poor Michael. Poor Bob. To think, INXS were the top act playing at OZ for Africa over a decade before. Like all the other acts, they played for free. So sad they became enemies because of that woman thing.

+Ruby R Michael would probably still be here if he didn't meet Paula, she brought loads of toxicity into Michael's life with all her baggage, drug habits, and nasty divorce/custody battle, once she got pregnant, it was a permanent hell for Michael to deal with, on top of that, the band's popularity and album sales were waning

I agree. After Hutch met Paula, it went downhill from there. I'm sure they loved each other, but the custody battle over Tiger Lily really threw Michael over the edge. It was just so wrong what Geldof did to both Paula and Michael. Michael did not deserve any of it. Geldof was a scorned ex-husband who wanted revenge. Well, Paula and Michael are both gone now. Was it worth it?

MrMrsMsMiss Cloud - yes she was ! She was the major bread earner ( Geldof musical career was all but over) He stayed up all night and slept all day. She was in reality a single parent . Then when she wanted to leave him . He acted like he was father of the year .

We will never know exactly what (really is)or (is not). What I have learned from this is “Don’t believe everything you read, or may hear on the news”. So many accusations!!

She seemed to enjoy to be a center of attention. Not beautiful, just a image, for photos. MH and Bob Geldof where catch in a midle of drama. Of course the British press helped Paula yates to be a star.

I have no sympathy for Paula Yates...she played 2 men against each other..she was loving every moment being center attraction....this chick was really mean how she treated Bob...and actually Michael...who knows what she said that night on the phone to him...Bob admitted to what he said...but she never really did...probably something fucked up like her.
