    I attended Michaels funeral as a guest of Rhett & it was so emotionally overwhelming. Like all of us, I remember where I was the day Michael died. He was such an amazing, beautiful, caring soul with a voice of gold. Michael will never be forgotten.

    Sadly Paula bragged to Michael's friend Catherine that she gave Michael's dad and mom BARBEQUE ASHES, instead of their 3rd each of Michael's ashes, and showed Catherine that she had all his ashes! Sickening (its under Catherine Mayer "everything you know is wrong - Paula yates).

    I remember it well myself. Him and Chris Farley both died around the same time in 97. It does feel like recently. I am an 80's kid and while my main music was metal I loved Inxs. My mom wore out their albums when I was in High school. I'm 51 now and it still seems so recent they were as big as any band in the 80's even outsold U2 for a while. I just read a book by his sister a few months ago and that brought me here and I watched all of it. Just a sad time in a bad year for celeb deaths.

    This is the first time I’ve watched this funeral. It was as poignant as Princess Diana’s 2 months before, before a global audience and was poignant personally when I lost both my parents, uncle and friend of my local pub years later. After watching countless documentaries, listening to many INXS albums, his solo material recently on cd and on iTunes, concert videos and music videos on KZread, it’s come to surface that Michael Kelland John Hutchence was of extraordinary talent who has left a wonderful legacy. He will forever be sorely missed in the world of music. A quote from his most famous INXS lyric for Never Tear Us Apart played towards the end of his funeral service, “...cause we all have wings, but some of us don’t know why.” He was built to fly amongst us all. Farewell and keep looking down on Tigerlily, your family and your remaining band mates. So long Michael. Peace... 😢❤️🕯

    My gosh Helen your story is so similar to mine. 10 years ago I lost my partner in a hit and run. We were both only 24. The last ten years like you, I’ve had to slowly piece my life back together and heal from such a tragic death. There hasn’t been a day that’s gone by where I haven’t thought about Jason. He is still so loved and so dearly missed. The day of his funeral, I was sitting in the car bawling my eyes out after the service and INXS baby don’t cry came on the radio. He used to call me babe all the time. I will never forget that moment in my life. I totally agree that their music definitely helps get through the pain of such loss. 🌹

    I remember watching this in 1997. It was the year I graduated from High School. Michael Hutchence was truly very special and no one has even come close to comparing to him since... Oh that voice. He had such a presence about him. I never knew him other than through his music, but he'll always hold a place in my heart. RIP Michael Hutchence. 🎤🌹🙏🏻

    Michael had been trying to break up with Paula at the time. He had been dating a girl named Erin in LA for 6 months prior, refused to move to England again, and it turns out he knew the cancellation of the kids to Australia for a few weeks in the fall was a done deal. It was something Paula and Colin Diamond drew up to let the kids visit (just the two youngest where Fifi was in boarding school) for a few weeks pre and post xmas (NOT during xmas as some said) in exchange for giving Geldof 35, 000 loan to take a lean off Paula's house so she could sell it. Bob AGREED TO LET THE KIDS go to Australia then asked the court therapist to reneg it so they wouldn't go and he'd keep the money. (see THe police statement of Paula yates). It made sense though as, even with tutors, it would be hard on the kids. The court visit on Nov 21st was just discussing the plans of a few months AFTER Christmas. So Michael was NOT waiting to hear if they would be coming to Australia for the fall, as they said. If you think about it, he'd be in ON TOUR when Paula would arrive, so why would he be expecting to see them? He wouldn't get to see until xmas when they were all planning to be in England when fifi got a break from boarding school. He was heard arguing with Paula - Not bob based on the time he was on the phone with them. I think Paula again threatened to take her life and the babies if he didn't marry her and she realized Bob wasn't going to let her chase Michael to Australia. Paula had a suicide attempt in August and delusionally was telling people they were getting married. Poor Michael may have felt that removing himself was the only way to save Tiger Lily

    Yeah, something I could never square with the whole story was, allegedly, Michael was on the phone arguing with Bob about allowing Paula to travel to Australia with the kids. But then, after Michael's death was announced, there was some indications that Paula was either ON a plane to AU already, or would be shortly. So it seems like whatever plans were for Paula's trip, they were already "settled" by the time he killed himself.

  • @dhill1113

    @dhill1113

    @@corneliuspraeda6452 No. Paula was seen and filmed in London on the day he died. But you touched on an interesting fact. There wasn't a booked plane ticket as others have said. According to her lawyer who was interviewed outside her place that night, he said they were making plans to go to Australia because Michael died. So there weren't plane tickets already. That make sense though, as she said she originally wanted to go on the 17th, but Bob cancelled on the 12th. She wouldn't buy the tickets until she got the go ahead. The ever present press reported they heard Paula screaming and crying when she got the news of his death. She later said that when she told Pixie "I never heard a child cry like that" she was so distraught. In London, the night of the day Michael died, Paula and Belinda are filmed getting in a car to go to the airport, with Tiger llily. It was decided the other kids would stay with Bob to avoid the media attention. On the plane, Paula told the press "he killed my baby" saying that Bob drove Michael to suicide.

    Michael was such a passionate and sensitive man... I feel like there are not enough men in the world like him, and there should be. I see men without passion or thoughtfulness, and it saddens me... because I remember how beautiful this man was in person and manner. I know why Paula fell so deeply in love with him, having come out of a showbiz climate in England filled with posers and fakes. Michael was completely sincere and we should strive to emulate his example as a person.

    But sadly like many of us he had his demons and issues that surfaced and we're heightened because he had that hedonistic life style and lived on the edge. Once he met Paula Yeates he didn't bargain on the impact of this union and a baby in the mix Paula truly loved him and he her but their wants and needs were different and needs and then a baby came along which didn't make things easier. I think Michael tried to do the right thing and Paula hoped he'd settle down. It was a no win situation . I've read the books penned by by Paula and her closest confidante at the time and it all makes sense now. No sides taken for me . I could see ultimately that it wasn't going to end well. Oh what a tangled Web we weave. X

    Paula also came from a background of access and excess and didnt tske drugs until she met Michael. Think Amy Winehouse Not saying he's to blame but she joined his lifestyle and his need for hedonistic sex because she lived him and would do anything. She put up with a lot but it was her choice. Read the 2 books available. One by Paula and one by her PA at the time and then you will understand x

Apparently the man was struggling with drug addiction, *which usually is a symptom of major trauma (like say??? child molestation) but as a veteran, you probably aren't familiar with drug addiction ; ) I'm not attacking you, I too think it's ridiculous how famous people are looked at as gods. It's a sad commentary on society when we exalt celebrities but that's what happens when you take God/The Bible and His Word from the general public. As for our veterans, humanity dies a little more each day, when we accept homelessness as a trophy for the men and women who served to ensured our freedom... Sad, very sad.
