You can understand as a flyers fan all he wanted was a championship in philly but we kept coming up short ...it probably broke his heart because the fans were so hard on them all those years ...he was A CLASS in my book

like every year since 74-75 it’s been maybe next year. I can’t stand it when they get so close and the philly choke happens.

@@inmatruckyo1400 I wouldn’t say it’s a choke when u don’t have the proper players , we haven’t had a #1 offensive defenseman since mark Howe, we haven’t had a goalie since Lindbergh, they gave lindros a power wing and ZERO snipers,,,,no choke , just organizational incompetence and greed, after the stadium was built no REAL effort to build a complete correct team since , lindros had to endure the Bobby Clarke FOLLIES years

One of the great passionate players in history, the man wins the Hart Trophy and gets emotional because he let the fans down and didn't think he did good enough for them. Lindros is the man.

For those that say Hasek & Jagr deserved the Hart Trophy that year; don't forget Hasek had to join a superteam with a super payroll (Red Wings) in order to buy his stanley cup because he can never do it in Buffalo (just like Durant did in Golden State) and Jagr had to team up with Super Mario, Peter Nedved, Rick Tocchet & Ron Francis to win his stanley cups in Pittsburgh. Lindros had to carry two teams with subpar talent jinxed for failure (Flyers and Rangers) with shitty goaltending (the main element you need to win a stanley cup) especially in the playoffs. Lindros led a team with consecutive losing seasons (Flyers) into the Stanley Cup Finals only to go down to a high octane super offensive multi-talented speedy super team (Red Wings).

No I'm not wrong. Al Morganti put that rumor to rest years ago. And Tocchet was traded back to Philly for Renberg in March of 2000. Brind'Amour was gone in January, so makes no sense. There was also a rumor that Sandy McCarthy, as well as Brind'Amour, beat up Lindros because of it. All lies.

Lindros would have easily match or broke all of Gretzky's records if he didn't have all those concussions. Philly will always miss you Big E! Legion of Doom kick ass!
