For anyone that watches this now I was there and he didn't mean to hit that jump like that his throttle stuck. That was straight from him when asked why he hit it like that. I have met Doug on many occasions and he is one of the most down to earth people you could ever meet!!

It wouldn't let me edit it after it posted but it was supposed to say... that it seemed like his throttle stuck as he pulled himself back up on the bike as his feet came off the pegs when he landed the jump before this one. Idk how it got deleted but my phone does that sometimes and I didn't proofread it before I sent it. Lol... Sorry about that.

I was 7/8 years old at the time. My first race. I remember it happening. I just happened to look over at the time. It was like watching it in slow motion. I'll never forget.

how could he recover from that? truly an inspiration. I love riding but suffered an injury similar to his. 2 compressed vertebraes, more than a year and still hurting. I still ride though.... that wont stop me from getting on my bike. Braaaaap!!!!

Webb’s crash was brutal, but the worst back injury I’ve ever seen was when Doug Henry landed flat from about 50 feet high at Budd’s Creek back in 1995.

I was at this race sitting across from Cooper Hill, and the one a year later when Doug broke both of his arms. His throttle stuck in the air on the double before Cooper Hill. He cased the landing with the throttle pinned and launched over the telephone wire that crosses the jump. The man broke his back, both arms and then came back to win the whole shebang once he was healed up. His sack drags the ground sparking behind him, that's how big his balls are.

Pretty Jay Hey! I grew up racing until my parents divorced but unto this day my very best dreams are motocross dreams. Usually my motocross dreams starts out me jumping way too high and landing way too hard but after that then I'll know I'm dreaming, and then it's full throttle all the way until I wake up. I love my motocross dreams!

I thought I heard Doug say in interviews that he brain farted. But, by the looks of it, it looks more like a whiskey-throttle. Regardless, Doug's definitely one of the biggest hearts in any sport.

Used to race amateur and one race I holeshoted but adrenaline kicked in and I didn't let off. Uphill jump to first turn. My dad was at the top filming head on. I almost jumped over the turn. I was still in the air when others were landing. You can hear the crowd in the film going oh shit. Didn't get hurt or anything but I instantly thought of this when the race was done

Doug was one of the riders i looked up to the most when i was growing up racing. Along with Damon Bradshaw and others. Doug didnt bail like a bitch on this jump (even if it was by mistake) He rode it out like a fucking BOSS
