Zambian's could only do much...i really wanted a win for Zambia. Having lost the best team in that horrendous Air crush and assembling a makeshift side at the same time reaching the finals was great... KING BWALYA & THE LIKES OF THE LATE CHABALA, MUTALE ETC MADE ME LOVE SOCCER.

Maybe for your generation. It is truly a great team. But the generation that watched the Green Eagles of the late 70s and early 80s would contest your claim. The team of Christian Chukwu, Segun Odegbami, Emmanuel Okala, Best Ogedegbe, Mudashiru Lawal, Felix Owolabi, Kunle Awesu, Adokie Amaesimaka, Aloysius Atuegbu, Henry Nwosu and others. It is just that globalisation through ICT is creating more exposures for new generations. But if you watched their matches, you would appreciates what I said.

this team was the best african team. That is why they were ranked #5 in the world during this time, but in the 1996 olympics, they were even better by beating Argentina(excluding Maradona) and brazil which were the defending world cup champions at that time. In fact, Nigeria would have made it to the quarter-finals of the 1994 world cup if not for Italy, which were the second best team in the tournament
