What a great memory! I remember this like it was yesterday. A two touchdown game for me too which was nice. Arrowhead was rocking!

Mr. Birden, what I really liked was how you guys started out trying to establish the outside passing game early against the number 3 pass defense in football. Loved how you guys loosened them up. I feel that if you can loosen a team's defense up, then you can usher in that second dimension. Most defensive minded coaches, like Coach Schottenheimer, like to establish the run game early on so you can play-pass off of that. But it seemed very clear to me that you guys said "Hey, we have to throw the ball early because the Eagles had the top rush defense in football at the time." And you guys did a FANTASTIC job doing so!! Great game by the Chiefs!! By the way, how about those Chiefs last night?

I often wonder how the Chiefs would have fared if they’d stuck with Krieg at QB. In other words, Paul Hackett without Montana in 1993.

Amazingly this was only the second all-time meeting between these teams and first since 1972 - they wouldn't meet in Philadelphia for the first time until 1998.

I like that they don't have the scoreboard and clock constantly being shown on the top/bottom of the screen. It allowed the viewer to focus more on the game being played on the field.

It was unheard of in those days for a Marty Schottenheimer-coached team to start the game off with five straight passes. Yet they did, and it yielded them a touchdown on their opening drive against one of the better defenses in the league. You just know Dan Fouts (the color commentator for this game) had to have been smiling the whole time.

There was a book written about this Eagles season called Bringing The Heat. It was about the 1992 season following Jerome Brown’s death. The part about this game was interesting as Marty Schottenheimer said you couldn’t run against The Eagles you had to throw as it made no sense to try and run.

Rich Kotite had a 14-6 record as HC at that point? It would get alot worse! Kotite was decent with the Eagles but horrible with the Jets! Poor guy lost his last seven games with the Eagles in 1994 and went 4-28 with the Jets in 1995 and 1996. Pathetic!!

If I had Cunningham, I'd be running away from chiefs D, Neil Smith, derrek Thomas..Ross and whittemore pretty awesome safeties too. Just don't understand how they couldn't win a super bowl in 90s, but 90s was just completely full of some badass talent.

@@chrisuncleahmad That's because Kotite won on players who were disciplined and all those good-great players were drafted by Marion Campbell (Cunningham and White were) and Buddy Ryan. same can be said for the 1995 Cowboys. Strictly won on discipline and Jimmy Johnson's drafts.

Sam Mccorkle Yes they decided to go in the tank after the death of Jerome Brown and the loss of Keith Jackson to free agency and go 11-5 and win the franchise’s 1st playoff game in a decade. Really? Oh maybe the rise of The Dallas Cowboys also had something to do with it
