One of the sad things about this race is that within two years Neil Bonnett was dead, Alan Kulwicki was dead, and Davey and Clifford Allison were dead.

It absolutely was. Sadly I was only 11 and didn't realize what I was witnessing. By the time I did, Davey died. My hopes were diminished and then when Dale died, that was it. No particular reason other than interest loss. Then, the rules and gimmick changes over the years have justified my turning away long ago.

Guys are forgetting that he was one hell of a race car driver too he never gets the credit he deserved I know he wasn't no Champion but nobody had more hard licks than he did and maybe had he don't have so many hard licks and bounced around so much things would have been different cuz he was very talented in my opinion deserves to be in the Hall of Fame

now I remember, youtube has a 2.0GB limit so I had to make cuts where they weren't filming any racing just had blimp photos or still photos when broadcast viewers were watching commercials, I finally got it down to 1.993 GB without losing any live action, it was the best I could do, but the still photos had to be sacrificed, I didn't cut any live action

I miss Davey Allison to this day, Nascar got huge without him but I bet if he were still there Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt wouldn't have won as many races and championships, that 28 team with Davey and Larry Mac were to strong and with Fords help they would've ruled the 1990's, but were only left with that all to familiar phrase "WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN", same as Tim Richmond and others.

Richard Petty, the King of Stock Cars. A legend on his last ride. 1992...one of the most competitive NASCAR Winston Cup seasons of all-time. By the finale in Atlanta, six drivers would be eligible to win the Winston Cup. Davey Allison, Alan Kulwicki. Two of NASCAR's rising stars, yet we're all left to wonder what might have been.

I think that Clint Bowyer describes the feeling viewer has when one car dominates race to the point where you KNOW who’s going to win.. He calls it “stinking up the show”. And that’s what Yates extra horsepower did here. And, really, the entire 92 season. Crash. Or win. I often fantasize how 28 car would have fared if they had a guy like Dick Trickle or Morgan Sheppard piloting it. The cup would have been Yates for sure

It wasn't really a close call for Kulwicki making the field. He was over 150 points clear of Hut Stricklin, the other provisional starter, and the next-highest in 1991 owner points was Jimmy Spencer, and Stricklin was over 400 points ahead of him in 1991.
