1990s Wendy's Commercials Compilation

Ойын-сауық

I'm going to try something new and different on this channel. With so many commercials I've accumulated over the years, I have enough to make long compilation videos out of them. I'm testing the waters here to how the viewership comes out. The first of these videos is a complication of all the 1990s Wendy's commercials that have been uploaded on this channel over years. If there's anymore of these you would like to see, that will depend if I have enough of them to warrant a compilation video.

I always enjoy seeing Dave Thomas in his own commercials. Between making them down to earth to making them funny, he never fails to make them enjoyable.

Other fast food burger places went out of their way to appeal to children, but even as a kid Dave’s ads are what made me a fan of Wendy’s.

The great thing about Dave is that he wasn't a professional actor. He was a bit stiff in his line reading, but he made that part of his persona and it was charming.

Sad, right? I remember in the 80’s as a kid when a hamburger at McDonald’s was 59 cents and a cheeseburger was 69 cents. Craziness!

Companies can no longer market in this manner because the corporatists have discarded any connection to the layman consumer. Dave at that time had already organized his company into a corporate structure and stayed on as a front man due to his connection to the consumer base. He learned many marketing lessons from Colonel Sanders in this regard (Dave used to work for Kentucky Fried Chicken). However, a man usually cannot outlive his globally marketed corporation and when he died, Wendy's became just another fast food pit without any discernable differences from its competitors in the marketplace.
