I use to go down to 45 Park Road in Tinton Falls, NJ to visit the IROC race shop. I worked with a guy (Can't remember his name) at Permacel Tape. We worked the night shift from Midnight till 8AM. After that this guy would go down to the IROC shop where he worked on the IROC cars. He introduced me to Jay Signore and Ray Evernham and they let me check out the cars being worked on and I was told I could just walk around. One of the workers ask if I would like to get in and sit in a IROC car which was great. I could at least say the cars I saw being worked on were the same cars that would be racing in the next race.

I was lucky enough to attend this as a young kid! I grew up in Bethlehem and went to all the Busch races at Nazareth from 1988 util 2000 or so plus a few 2 or 3 IndyCar races in the early 90s when Pocono was dropped. This is arguably the greatest line-up of drivers I ever saw! I was a bit too young to truly appreciate attending this at the time. Penske did an awesome job developing Nazareth. It's a shame ISC bought it then ran it into the ground....

Nazareth joined the CART schedule in 1987 so there were 3 years with both Nazareth and Pocono. Nazareth was a much better managed track and I really enjoyed watching the short track show the Indy cars put on back then. I went to every race from 1987-95 and I still hate that it will almost certainly never come back.

They need to bring back Nazareth. A great track with a unique personality.

Always looked forward to the IROC races. Thanks for sharing this one! Love it.

I live 10 minutes from the facility and it is so sad every time I drive by. I still have Pocono, but Nazareth always put on competitive racing. Want to know how difficult it was to win there let alone more than once? In Xfinity competition, only two drivers won there more than once. Tim Fedewa and Truck Series Champion Ron Hornaday Jr. won twice. The shape of the track actually mirrors Walt Disney World and Phoenix. Many notable drivers that won there include Rick Mast, Chuck Bown, Ron Hornaday, Ricky Craven, Todd Bodine, Elliott Sadler, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, and Martin Truex Jr.

I saw some great racing at that place. It was so unique. The backstretch went downhill.

Always loved each driver introduced while showing their crashes

Miss the iroc series... they need to bring it back .. and race the old tracks like Wilkesboro and rockingham .. or even bowman grey would be amazing
