This is off the hook and ENTIRELY more exciting than the 'participation trophy', easy does it bullshit they parade as racing today. Did Earnhardt win a stage? Do they need overtime??? 😂😉 gtfo with that shit. Oh, and '88 was absolutely one if the most memorable seasons ever in nascar as is echoed in the comments. Sub plots abound!

Those were the last real nascar. Mercury, Ford, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Dodge, Plymouth,Buick, racing with a real car, heavily modified but all different, not just a shell with all the same features. Half of these brands don't exist anymore. Pontiac/Oldsmobile/ Mercury. I'm glad to remember these years. These cars were flying.

Back when "racing", was..."racing". Golden Age of NASCAR. Grew up about 5 miles from A.J. Foyt's ranch...he was us kids' hero in the 70's.

The high point of a surprisingly subpar 2001 season for Roush Racing. Really, the only year in the Taurus era that Roush didn't either have a big-time race winner or a top 5 threat.
