The top five into the stepladder finals are Jim Pencak, Richmond Heights, Ohio; Mike Aulby, Indianapolis; Jess Stayrook, San Diego; Harry Sullins, Detroit; and Tom Crites, Tampa. Broadcast on ABC Sports. You can see David Ozio and Richard Altman (owner of Boulevard Bowl and a staunch PBA supporter) in the front row. i used to really enjoy watching bowling on winter saturday afternoons back then, chris and nelson were such a great announce team. i've always been a league bowler.
Stayrook was a pro for 8 yrs and had one 300 game. Holy crap !

hehe I thought the instrumental piece used by that fishing show right at the start of this vid sounded familiar. "Six To Four" by George Benson. Now to skip past the rest of the fishing show and get to the U.S. Open telecast... :)

+habyss Also back when there were no synthetic lanes and urethane bowling balls ruled the lanes...you had to work those urethane balls back then...now they do all the work for you...
