1988 Jim Beam Corvette Decanter Review and Giveaway
Ойын-сауық
Many people believe the golden era of bourbon was the 60s, 70s, and 80s. In this review we fresh crack a 1988 Jim Beam that came in a Corvette decanter, and compare it to its modern equivalent Jim Beam White Label. As always we give a little way for free, so you may have a chance to try this experiment at home.

I was gifted a decanter of JB that was bottled in 1973 and when I opened it I noticed the nose was absolutely wonderful and the flavor was even better!!! I believe decanters keep the liquor and only enhance its flavor!!
I have an Ohio decanter that's full, and it tasts pretty good! Definitely richer tasting than newer bottles
That would be cool to own, I never knew they did the corvette decanter, wow! Peace and love to all, keep pouring!! ✌️🥃
Most interesting. I never knew that the Corvette decanter was ever made. Very informative about this time in history. Thanks

Our pleasure!
In the 60-80s, Jim Beam released Christmas decanters! My grandmother collected them! RIP!
I’m a big fan of Beam products. It would be very cool to have this or even get to try it!
Years ago i did some flooring for a guy who collected corvettes and other classic cars and he had a every year of these dacanters and a bunch of other crazy car decanters. All empty but really cool to look at.
Thanks for the information. I have a Clint Eastwood decanter from the late 1970’s. Unfortunately, the liquid is gone, but I still display the decanter.
I’ve got a 68 decanter and a 71 decanter and both are 100 months and 86 proof. Both were extremely dark in comparison to the modern day Beam and with both I was pleasantly surprised with how good they both were, although both of them had this kind of paint or paint thinner taste to them. Neither were off putting, just something I’ve never experienced before. Highly recommend tracking down some of these dusties.. 🥃🥃
So much fun to watch, as always!! Thanks, Chris, for sharing the experience with us.

3:39 Balcones Distilling gives the age in months - for instance, my current bottle of Baby Blue corn whisky is AGED AT LEAST 12 MONTHS IN OAK. 🙂 8:39 I much prefer a screw top for that reason among others.
There is such a major difference between dusty Jim Beam and newer Jim Beam. Out of all of the big names I do find that dusty Beam does not have as much of that dusty funk as say Wild Turkey. One of my favorite bottles that I have tried is a 130 proof single barrel of Beam from 1984.
That’s Facemans Vette from the A-Team.
Good episode, love it. Drank a lot of Beam in the 80s😂. Didnt save any...

Very nice of you to offer up some of your vette dusty Chris. Good video. I like these dusty one's.
I have several Ducks Unlimited Jim Beam decanters with "100 month old" Beam from the late 70s and early 80s. Three of the four are unopened and sealed. After watching, I think I might have to open one just to see.

I would go ahead and open them. They are just as good on display empty as full, and then you can share the experience.

Was it 750ml or 1/5 ie a fifth ? The 70's didn't use metric .
