A pleasure to watch games from the pass that we have not even seen. Technology was not even in existence in our country - PNG then. most of the player have passed or very old by now.

A very memorable footage. A very raw and passionate Kumuls team back then. As years have gone by, time has changed and so as the modern day Kumuls. late bal numapo was the rugby league king in the 1980s right from ssy village league to highlands zone and made it to kumul. around that time nrl premier star was curtrburry bull dogs tried his to NRL as he was deemed to be the world best center due to knee injury in nrl hrs return home and hang his boots..

They were legends then but it seems like the players were plugged directly out from respective village leagues to represent PNG. Even the Lions as well. No quality and structure in the 80s.
