That is a fantastic find......I would so love to have one.

Good Lord that old cabover looks better used than many trucks do after restoring. I can't get over that condition of that truck, it's nicer than a lot of 2016 models much less 1986 ones.

Real beautiful rig, my dad had a 1986 K-Dub cab over the was also a United Van Line fleet truck but it was a flat top, same paint n all so seeing yours takes me right back to childhood.

Dang. ! That truck is like brand new. ! Unbelievable. In the last 45years. I knew alot of United drivers. They made a lot of money back in the Day and always had the best equipment. Wow that’s amazing thanks for showing the inside so many cabover videos don’t bother to show the interior. My dad learned to drive on a K100 just like this but it was Werner blue ex Werner truck pulling a flatbed for a small outfit in Northern California

You don't have to worry about me stretching it. Not sure why thats a thing anyway but it won't be done to mine. Going to start replacing are bags and suspension components soon. Thanks for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it!

I agree the whole point of a cabover is to be short but then people stretch them out to 310” for no reason

What a gem 💎 👍🏻

My son has been wanting to tackle restoration of a 1976 KW his dad bought for me, the farm's #1 grain hauler, chief cook & bookkeeper, in 1988. After hauling corn from field to town in a couple of 1973 tandem axle C60 Chevy dump beds pulling pups I gave the ultimatum, No A/C, No driver! We ran the KW for 10-12 yrs, but parked it when after putting a driver in it we realized the front end was just too wore out for it to be on the road, even for short hauls. By then I'd graduated up twice into a couple of Pete 379/Cats. I'll tell my boy to watch your suspension repairs, as I'm sure the 76 needs them. My husband handled the mysterious maintenance & repair stuff. Due to all the DOT & insurance hassles I'm not going to put a diesel tractor back on the road in my name, thus I have to come up with a fair market value to sell it to my son. 😄As an antique it may be out of his price range now. We gave $5K for it. The boy can worry about insurance & upkeep thereafter. I'm excited to see it back on the road, but keeping my poker face on.

I was with United Van Lines with a 1985 Kenworth K100E 90" Aerodyne on 235" wheelbase. I had a 96" drom box behind with crawl through with shower, toilet, refer, micro, sink, double bed. I stretched the frame to 283" wheelbase, had a 32 foot custom box made with garage in the back for a small car, took out the 13spd put a Allison HT740 transmission in-it is my motorhome now.

If you look on front of the truck under drivers windshield there should be a number , it represents the agent the truck was leased to during its day . Owner operators had to lease thru United van lines agents instead of straight to the company. Finding the number will give a little more history of the truck . Great truck. good luck with it .

It should have a fridge on passenger side I think does it work and stretching it some will make a world of difference if you ever plan on spending more then a day of driving it I know from personal experience all my dad ran up till late 90s early 2ks was cabovers but nothing crazy even like a 250inch wb will save what back some of us (outlaws) have left lol and hell the average hood is 250 to 260 anyway but whatever you do with it it is a top notch looking ride and looks like it had an owner or two that had pride in their ride and you are continuing it
