1985 Ironhead Chopper: Top End Rebuild and Suspenseful First Start Up

Dragonman does shit work! Builders BEWARE! U can just light a couple hundred bucks on fire and be better off than letting this hack touch your engine parts! Got my ironhead parts back from Dragonman’s in Colorado Springs,CO, he screwed up EVERYTHING! Do not take any parts to that con artist!!! Basically just took my money and not only didn't do it correctly, but made it very hard to fix. Check out the link at the end of the video for the update on the shit I went thru because I thought Dragonman wouldn't screw me over. The more inspected and measured, the more wrong they were!
**Installed and finally got my bike back together and the break in period begins! Some hiccups at the first start up…

Who the hell is Ironhead Sally? Well here's my channel description:
Old School Bikes and Old School Ways! Ride hard, wrench a lot, and always having a blast.
Bike camping, wrenching, and shenanigans. My husband and I create motorcycle content for people that are tired of seeing all of the fake insta accounts of sponsored boring yuppies. Here's some realness, we are just broke bikers living the low life and getting by. I ride a 1985 Ironhead Chopper as my daily, my touring bike is a 1984 FXR. We have lots of Ironheads and FXRs and are constantly building more, trying to keep these old neglected scoots on the road instead of rotting away in a garage.
Appreciate all the love & support

You are a very brave soul allowing dragonman to touch and do any machine work on your bike. The dude is a complete hack job. Should have thrown a red flag when he said he starts out honing the cylinders with 500 grit and finishes with 200 grit, that doesnt even make any sense! Hope he doesn't do you wrong.

I noticed that too. Considering the higher the number the finer the cut it didn't make sense but I also know he has a shit reputation with builders in general. I know guys talk shit on each other but I've first hand seen his work and it's cost people a lot more to fix it than if it was done right the first time. That said you ALWAYS measure what you get from the machine shop.

@@ClimptonDiddlehopper many people have said they sent engines to him for full rebuilds and got back half way built engines. Others have even said they got a fully built motor from him and didnt even make it to the end of the street on their first ride before the engine grenaded on them. Do not take ANY engine parts to Dragonman. I am still confused as to how he was able to screw up my cylinders THAT BAD! hack job with no regard for customers. Check out the next video to see how I found all this out the hard way! Should have gone through it all with a fine touch comb. Hell, I've honed cylinders before and figured he can't fuck it up that bad with his machines, well boy was I wrong! the valves/porting job on the heads, were a waste as well. If I had any part of your energy I would get out to the garage, put the Pan trans back together and into the bike, get it off the table and get my Ironhead up there and work on it. But the recliner is comfortable for watching your and other bike videos and it is raining hard. The first half hour of the project is outside work so I am enjoying watching other people and learning tricks. I will be out there dodging the careless drivers soon enough. Enjoy your scooters, and keep the videos coming.
