    Jonathan Dragon the car has a really interesting history if you look it up. They would've keept making them but it was outselling the Corvett it think it was so they stopped making them so they didn't have to stop making the Corvett cuz the Corvett is like their signature car. I don't know exactly how it goes but I think that's why they stopped making them

    @ScottieDTV; Thank You much for recording and posting this most unusual Pontiac Fiero with its Supercharged V-8, with a large, tall, screwball blower. Clearly this modified vehicle has custom paint and the body modification additions with wider wheel wells, front side and back skirts, hood with it slotted downward scoop vent, air dam, for additional downward force, slightly raised hood near the windshield, along with the front air splitter, modified enclosed dual headlights, in place of the pop-up single headlights, and additional lights in the front bumper. There is not much mass and weight in the front trunk area, except the spare tire and chassis, thus the extra downward force is very helpful, and somewhat necessary with this vehicle having such a high power, high torque engine. Wonder if the owner has any fuel tanks or other mass in the front too, along with flexible fuel. There did not seem to be any noticeable multiple fuel lines to the engine, that i could determine. Am surprised that the owner claims the vehicle only is a low 10 second car. Especially with that roll bar and wheelie bars too, along with such a large screwball blower, supercharger. It looks like the V-8 is a small block, but is not clear what the displacement is; would figure it could be a LS or LT or similar in the range from 5.0 L - 6.2 L [302-376 c.i.]. Do You know more about the particular modifications this owner did than mentioned during this recorded video? Perhaps You have some contact information from the owner. The vehicle tags indicate the car is registered in Florida, so perhaps the owner lives there too, though his speech pattern does seem similar with Yours, which You stated explicitly You are from Toledo, Ohio. The Fiero, is still one of my favorite vehicle platforms and can be modified for extensive performance, power, and many racing formats. Clearly, as the owner states, this particular modification is very unusual, and certainly still the first one of this type that am aware of. Any additional information, details and owner contact would be very much appreciated. Agree with You, that this mid-engine would do well in snow, with its balanced weight and especially a heavier engine and trans-axle as this modified vehicle, though the light front end might have some issues with steering and need some extra mass, as another person stated. Also since the vehicle is a bit lower, it would have some difficulty in deep snow, but also is very light weight overall with its advantages. Many other rear engine, rear drive vehicles, did well in the snow too as the older VW beetle -bug, van-camper, Karman Ghia, most Porsche vehicles, and the Chevrolet Corvair; my father had bought one in 1965 while we lived there in Toledo too. It was also relatively low, but not quite as much as the Fiero. The four wheel drum brakes could be easily flooded during heavy rains, which would sometimes occur in Our neighborhood and area during the summer. [also live nearly my first 9 years in Toledo, in the Sylvania township area, and frequently visited my grandmother and friend from our neighborhood after my parents moved with us to the Maryland Suburbs, NW of Washington, D.C.; my last visit was after living in LA, CA with my wife in December 1988; it snowed during Our visit too- the first of that winter; actually born in South Bend, IN, though my mother, her parents, grandparents and my two sisters (older and younger) were born in Toledo too.] All The Best and Much Success in Your Quest, Health and Well Being. Sincerely

    @jburner4299

    10 жыл бұрын

    Daniel Keener Says he is using an Olds Toronado transmission. Toronados had a front longitudinal V8, but were FWD. The transmission was very odd, it was mounted on the left side of the engine, and was driven by a chain running from the torque converter that was mounted on the back of the engine. The driveshafts ran under the oil pan. Google it, it is interesting. That engine and trans in the back of the Fiero would make it RWD.

Sketchy for certian. Plus they suffer from a lil thing called snap over steer.. (Atleast the mr2 does, Correct me if im wrong about the fiero) But getting traction is a huge bitch lol, I plan on getting an mr2 and swapping it with a 4 cyl diesel engine, I wont be going over 350 whp, if i even wanna do that.. my first mr2 was unfortunately a rust bucket.. mk11

    that is an awesome fiero, my dad bought me my first car, also an 84 fiero, I didn't drive it though, just let it sit in his driveway for 9yrs until he sold his house, at which point, told him to sell the fiero. my dad bought a couple more fiero's after buying mine, but he opted for the 88 GT's, more power (being that of a V6 instead of the 4cyl), and a sleeker design.. I, myself, am into Rx-7's but look at fiero's regardless as they are intriguing. good video. awesome build.

    Colleen Perkins what he is saying is he doesn’t understand why people build cars to make them lawn ornaments.. Just to sit and look at, this car has an Oldsmobile 455 with a big displacement billet blower with a belt on it as wide as a conveyor belt. An outrageous amount of money was spent on parts that are designed to withstand the abuse of racing for him not to race it braided lines the works lol And I get what he means like why not try to win your money back lol I see a fuck Ton of money there It’s the same concept as buying a sprint car just for it to never race. In other words this car is a purpose built car that doesn’t serve its purpose. This car is a single digit capable car and could be out making money rather than sitting in grass lol

    We had a guy at a car show up here in the northeast about ten years ago with a V8 Fiero, but it wasn't blown like that one. The one I'm talking about looked completely stock on the outside, but the interior and engine compartment were a whole different story.

    Scott really enjoy these unusual rides like the '53 Stude you had on recently.....and this Fiero...remember the intro for the Fiero back in '84...w/the 4banger, auto and no power steering it wasn't a pleasant memory but since then the engine swaps, from North and Shortstars, to SBC to this monster makes 'em interesting....

    Thanks buddy. My cousin had a red 1984 just like that one. His was the base one though. One night years ago, we went to a concert, and when we came back, it was raining. We had to make a tight left turn, and my cousin stomped the gas. We went around the corner to hard, the weight of the rear mounted engine threw us around and we ended up going backwards and slammed into the median of the turn lane that was to our left. My cousin never tried that again. It was funny and nobody got hurt.

    I'm old enough that I've built two V8 Vegas........ and one V8 Corvair....... I did 'em because I simply couldn't imagine their would ever be a better "light" drag strip killer than a Vega and the Corvair because the independent suspension made for a car that could have dominated "Trans Am" racing had Chevrolet ever built it with the same "mid-engine" set-up.......... then people started building V8 Fieros and the best of both the Vega and the Corvair swaps could be found in this one car. I've never done one......wish I had. This one is pretty incredible ...... beyond my imagination and probably capability too. KUDOS!! Very cool!
