I loved seeing Dennis Skinner! He never forgot the miners, even in the late 2020's, and spoke his mind even though he was asked to leave the commons for what he said! He had Dodgy Dave (referring to David Cameron) and had the whole house in an uproar of mirth, when he suggested that Maggie Thatcher was going to be the Governor of the Bank of England when she retired! Even Maggie herself had a good laugh about it!

The Miners Campaign Tape Project, was one of the best series of films made at the time of the 1984 dispute. This one like the others showed strong visual images of trade union power, at its best.

I do not wish to dispose of the tapes (which are originals from 1984) as they form an important part of our political history. If anyone knows of a small local museum in one of the pit areas affected, I will gladly send them free of charge. Please email me via this channel.

Hi there. I am a local historian based in Doncaster, currently completing a documentary project on Women Against Pit Closures. If you haven't already given these tapes away, I would love to take them in and pass them on to either Doncaster or Barnsley museums for archiving, as well as including some of the clips in my research. Thanks!

@@emilyingram1899 I no longer have the tapes Emily, but passed them on to the offices of John McDonnell MP. I am sure he would let you have them, if going to a museum in a former pit area.

@@richardwoolrich1000 Sure - more than happy to see these recordings being shown. As for the original VHS tapes, they have been passed on. If you know a local historian in Doncaster called Emily Ingram, she may have been able to get the tapes from John McDonnell. I should have digital copies stored somewhere.
