@@gregoryingram7561 Yeah this was a few years after he beat Leon Spinks and became the first man ever to win the heavyweight championship a consecutive three times... So this was the early part of 1980 because notice in this video Muhammad Ali said he wanted Big John Tate who was the WBA heavyweight champion at that time, Ali didn't mention Larry Holmes for his WBC title as of yet...
@gregoryingram7561
2 жыл бұрын
@@claydogmadman6295 yes I do recall his rematch with Leon Spinks, it was a horrible fight for Muhammad Ali even though he won all he did was throw 3 jabs and grab the whole fight because even when you go back and look at that fight Ali was a shell of what he use to be, a young Ali would have knocked Leon Spinks out within 3 rounds it was also sad considering Leon Spinks had less than 20 fights when he beat Ali the first time, later on in years Leon Spinks heavily criticized Ali saying in the second fight he came to fight, Ali came to dance.

@@gregoryingram7561 No sir, go back and rewatch that Ali vs Spinks rematch my man, Ali was up on his toes all night floating like a butterfly and stinging like a bee... It's on KZread in it's entirety, that was Muhammad Ali's last good fight... Infact I'm inclined to believe that if that 1978 version of Ali in the Spinks rematch had fought Larry Holmes in 1980 that Ali would've probably out pointed Larry Holmes... Now before you disagree I'll ask that you go back and look at the Ali vs Spinks rematch, you don't even have to watch the full fight, you could just pull up the KZread highlights on that fight... So I ask that you rewatch the fight simply because you made the statement of Ali having trouble with Spinks but won the fight anyway and that's not accurate, just when you have some free time on your hands just go back and rewatch the whole fight or at least the highlights and give me a re-assessment if you would...

@@claydogmadman6295 Ali is my idol, but he was washed in both Spink fights. Alis prime was between 1964-1967, especially 1966-1967. Holmes was close to his peak and Ali far from it in 1978, the result would've been the same. Prime Ali vs prime Holmes is a 50/50. Holmes had far better fundamentals/technique but Ali way ahead regarding physical attributes

Watching this video was such a relief. It's so hard to believe that such a man even existed at all. Despite being at such a position in his profession, he was so humble! Nowadays, there are so many celebrities who know that they have no threat from their fans or a crowd. But still, just to show their stardom and status and maintain their facade, they keep 2-4 bodyguards around them. Pure show-off, as they truly are puny from inside... While this man is totally something else. I have even listened to his talks on religion and everything else and believe me, his views, and the things he said with such an ease and conviction showed that this man is much more educated than most of the doctorates and scholars out there! He was a very wise man, and very, very clear about his goals and his overall life. There's a reason why he's called the greatest...
It’s can never be another Ali he was definitely one of a kind RIP ALI

What a tough man he was in the ring! His first fight against Frazer was like a fright death to him, yet he fought his great opponent two more times, facing a living hell each time! Tears always come to my eyes when I watch or think of Ali, tears of respect and of love for his beautiful soul. There's a story of a young and terminally sick boy who adored Ali and who met the great man. The boy died some time later. When Ali heard the sad news, he wept. To me, an atheist, that act by the great man was as close to being an act of God as anything I'll ever see. I love animals far more than I love humans, but I might make an exception to that, perhaps a lone exception, when I think of Ali. My spirit will always love Ali.......
