Once the CANCER OF BOXING Don King got his hooks into him everything went to SHIT!!!!! I always said that Don King and Robin Givens were the reasons that Mike lost to Douglas.... The first thing that Robin did after her and Mike were married was to get Mickey Rooney and anyone else that actually cared and looked out for Mike outside of the ring fired and her, her Mother and Don King kept him from having any contact with them..If you watch interviews leading up to that fight and even when Mike entered the ring he wasn't himself... It looked like he was in daze... Like he was on something.... I always said also that when it became more profitable for Don King for Mike to lose THE CANCER OF BOXING made sure that he did just that.... A focused well trained Tyson with Rooney as his trainer Buster Douglas would've been lucky to survive 4 rounds with him.. Don King never cared one bit about the sport or the fighters that he promoted and all Mike was to him and the whore that he pushed him into marrying was a huge payday....

Imagine the head movement, technique, skills,defence, footwork, body movement for a heavyweight and then the power punches. But he was carried away by fame and wealth and was surrounded by those who don't have his best interest at heart, rather were with him for their selfish financial interest. Like Cus D'Amato rightly said. Had Mike Tyson never got distracted along the lines he would've undoubtedly become the greatest heavyweight boxing champion of all time.. Sadly, They deliberately ruined one of the best talents in the history of heavyweight boxing. Consequently, Mike Tyson wasn't able to realize his full potential. Even at that he was a beast whose accomplishment was unprecedented in the history of heavyweight boxing.. That's why for me I consider him the greatest heavyweight boxing champion of all time behind Muhammad Ali. And am glad the way Mike Tyson turned out later in life as an amazing and incredible human being. He remains my HERO and IDOL. All the best Mike. Keep punching champ.

I think Mike is the most incredible and impressive athlete of all time. At his best he was the closest we got to watching greatness when he did everything right. When people watch footage of 80's Tyson they become captivated. The footage speaks for itself. Even the training shows Mike doing things I never seen anyone do. He didn't even have to fight anyone to know he was a destroyer. I've never seen anybody with his build have so much speed combined with his power. On top of it all the most important and impressive thing about him was the elusiveness. That's what Cus focused on the most and what made Mike special. Once he fired Rooney the other coaches didn't know the system like Kevin did. Kevin wasnt afraid to yell at Mike and tell him to go to the body and fix things. Mike never respected the other guys. He felt he knew more than them and he was probably right. Mike was still a destroyer in the 90's but he ceased being the unhittable terror we saw in the 80's.

Hey fella, Holyfield was cruiserweight in the 80s and didn't turn heavyweight until 1988 and Lewis didnt even turn pro until 1989. @@travzimmerman1340 You should do more research tbh. Tyson hammered Stewart, Holyfield won a decision against him and big George almost lost. Don King paid the step aside money for LL.. (politics are an irrelevant argument since its not the fighters choice). There is a reason there aren't videos about Evander nor Holyfield to this magnitude. THEY BOTH ADMITTED THEY WOULD LOOSE TO PEIME TYSON IN THIS VIDEO! Oh let's also talk about Oliver M slamming Lennox with ease (Tysons old sparring partner). You shouldn't throw out the statement "casual fan" so loosely. No one is invincible but during that 85-89 era no.. no one came close.
@anthonydavid8193

Exactly! Evander had to cheat with his headbutts & alleged steroids both fights & Lennox should be ashamed of himself,fighting Mike at that stage in his career.Lennox fought scared,holding & leaning on him.Even his trainer Steward was mixed up.One min telling,"Be careful,he might catch you with some s*%&!" & later on "Go to him & bang em'!"Smh.Lennox eventually caught him with too many rights,yet still had to push him down.Point is neither one of those guys beat the real prime focused Mike Tyson,& btw neither did Douglas.

He is left handed. Cuz trained him orthodox because peek-a-boo is optimal with a lead left hand. Look up the Willie Bag concept for the punch numbering system he was taught by Cus/Atlas/Rooney. He switch stepped to an open or southpaw stance very often to confuse opponents and generate angles of attack. Elite foot and hand speed, quickness, power from the floor up and delivered with a mechanical whip technique combined with the most polished shoulder and hip snap you will see in your lifetime, powerful legs from ankle to pelvis, a strong and flexible core conditioned to take blows, weave, slip, duck and explode all in the same breath, effortless level changes that have given me chills studying film, precise and mesmerizing head movement reminiscent of a cobra primed to strike, both hands had wrecking balls in gloves capable of near relativistic speeds, a strong and flexible neck and shoulders built to withstand heavyweight blows, the most blinding and precise counter punching I've ever seen all wrapped into the mindset of a scared and angry teenager molded by a master mentor, motivator, trainer and loving adoptive father into a vicious conquerer who couldn't conceive of being defeated by mere mortals.
You can see that Mike Tyson was training to kill with his hands. Hands up for the coachs too.
I Iwas born on 1984, still a kid and never had the chance to see this great fighter but thank you for this amazing awesome videos and truly The IRON about MIKE Tyson was real, amazing to watch.👍💪👍💪🤜🤜MIKE Tyson 🐐🐐🐐

Triple hook on the heavy bag with no lagg.. farkn unreal precision speed power skill footwork.. if he had a criticism, it would be he didn't work in the clinch. I'm no expert, so take that with a grain of salt. Aside from his too early loss of cus. His coming together with the sleazy don king and givens, at his peak.. just wow. Quite a mountain to climb. Really, his story is quite legendary. An inspiration

Yes his amazing power and speed was something you dont see he had opponents baffled when he did the peek a boo which you see a lot when an opponent is swinging away and cant catchj him and mike comes out of the peek a boo and floors him and to think where he came from to where he is now its a miracle he is definitely a survivor,
Mike in his prime is absolutely unbeatable... he is like fighting with two hammers. Boom 💥

One of the "greatest humans ever"??? What inconceivable horseshit. He isn't even REMOTELY one of the greatest THAT WE KNOW OF, let alone the billions you'll never have any knowledge of. Jesus wept. Maybe read some of the great writers and thinkers and painters and poets, even politicians, before you celebrate a convicted rapist who bites people's ears off and smokes psychedelic toad venom. I bet you're yet another of those thousands of KZread commentators who doesn't know how to leave a message without using the phrase "ever" as if it magically lends some strength to an opinion borne of absolute ignorance.
Mike, it doesnt matter what you did with your life, what matters is what you did for ours.

The greatest of all time!! Iron Mike Tyson!!!
Cus D’amato was the founder of mike tyson. Had he been around him for long, mike would have been champion longer than he had.
Had he stayed with the ones who cared and loved him and stayed away from Con king nobody was beaten this version of Tyson.say all you want but this was the most disciplined well trained boxer and he wasn't going to be beaten by anyone.all those other guys people love so much didn't and wouldn't have beaten this Tyson,no way

Hey fella, Holyfield was cruiserweight in the 80s and didn't turn heavyweight until 1988 and Lewis didnt even turn pro until 1989. You should do some research as to who the Tyson camp paid step aside money to so he did NOT have to face CERTAIN fighters........The guys that think Tyson was invincible are casual novice boxing fans.......

@anthonydavid8193

Cus predicted some very real outcomes. Tyson in my opinion is the greatest of all time . Ali was the first like and so is held by most as the greatest like Einstein is considered the greatest brain. When your the first to discover or do the (at the time) the unknown or unseen you are always remembered as the greatest and everyone after is considered a replica of what someone did great before and so the first are remembered romantically in our hearts as the best. Tyson in my opinion was /is the greatest .

Mike Gerard Tyson summarized but not defined.
It takes a lot of energy to fight like that , but if you're capable of it look at the results !
