You certainly don't see that now these days, these so called champions, we are lucky too see them fight once every 1.5 to 2yrs between bouts, long gone are the great ones, the 3 kings, Gotti and Micky Ward, my all time favorite of all Sugar Ray Lenard one of the 3 kings, he beat the dogshit out of Mayweather's father...if only it was another era cause he would put Mayweather Jr on Qweer street within 4 rounds, Mayweather would try and run but Ray Lenard would beat the brakes off of him. Mayweather is a runner...fought tomato 🍅 cans most of his life to get 8-0, what about Julio Chevez went 74-0....and what warrior...imagine Hagler in there with the buns they have now a days...the 3 kings would feast on all of these so called buns....there seems to be more belts now then fighters lololol...such a joke now

@@bthorn5035 Cus kept him grounded, as did Jacobs. When they died he had nobody left to tell him "no". Tyson fought a combination of a Patterson peek a boo style but much stronger than Patterson. And the ferocity of Dempsey who he emulated. Both of those styles have a "you have to be at your best at all times" to be dominate. If you lose your timing even a little then you are vulnerable. He did and that happened.

GOAT means you have to beat or at least compete with the greatest in their prime. His win over Spinx was his only signature win over a guy who beat everybody else and was still in their prime. He never fought an even old Foreman. But no seriously knowledgable boxing fan considers Tyson as GOAT as it played out. I do consider him as fighter that who, had Cus and Jacobs had lived, with that potential. But they died and he fell apart. Him knocking out people on his way up doesn't count as GOAT.

I think Mike was predestined to boxing without even knowing it, why? thanks to the fact that his morphological structure was perfect for the development of his type of boxing , very large skull ( head ) , this gave him a very strong neck , trapezoids etc , his center of gravity was very low which allowed him those rapid movements and elusive, and obviously a very hard training did the rest apart from his innate aggressiveness.

His post-fighter interviews are revealing, Total respected for the man, very wise. To understand his intelligence during a fight, the man said he would study anatomy, the location of the softest spot to hit in the kidney area and the head. He literally said, "I aim at the center of the brain"'; therefore his crushing punches were so devastating.

Mike was the baddest to ever lace up the gloves. Even Ali said he wouldn't fight Mike, so did Foreman. Holms had to try it out to see. It didn't go long, but he said Mike was a true fighter.. All that until he fired Rooney. He won a few more fights but Mike doomed himself. Without Rooney, Mikes only line back to Gus, he was not to long to go. Damnit! I wish he had kept Rooney! We'd still be watching him break heads!

@@geraldfriend256 Agreed. But Ali was not a knockout specialist. He was a destructive puncher. Gradually wearing his opponent down over time. Tyson was made for Ali. He would hsve no answer to Ali's style of fighting. Virtually nobody had any answer's to Ali's style of boxing. But I do have to say Ali was a 2 trick pony. And is tricks were dancing around the ring and his hand speed. Once these began to falter with age he was Virtually done. He should NEVER have boxed beyond 30. For my money the greatest pound for pound boxer in history was Marvelous Marvin Hagler. For my money he has no weaknesses. He gets the perfect 10.
