Brother could have at least shaved off that old fashioned Burt Reynolds mustache, and got the hair on his head either cut down to a low brush cut, with a fade, or even a box cut, with a fade, like my man Tyrell Biggs was working with. I mean didn't he care at all that he was going to be featured on syndicated national television???😩 The whole entire world saw how old he was in the ring for Christ Sake!!!!!🤷 Even My own grandmother was confused. Thomas underated fighter. He got hit with some real hard shots earlier. Iron chin. Took hard body shots well. His jab beats most fighters. Hard to hit. Good defence . Just ran into a juggerknot . Roonie trainned tyson. Tyson is still learning & getting better.

Also- to fight a power puncher and have true success you either have to be Willie Pep or have enough power to keep them honest and off you. Or else its just a relentless attack and depends on the punchers cardio. Thomas had a pretty solid rt hand but not enough to deter Tyson. People do not give Tyson enough credit for his chin either. Guy was so out of shape for so many elite level fighters (s); but hung in for rounds and rounds on heart and chin.

People also dont give enough credit to heavyweight fringe contenders in the 70s or 80s. Guys like Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Jimmy Ellis so many more from 70s and guys like P Thomas, Mike Weaver, James Tillis, Tim Weatherspoon even Tommy Morrison. Lots of these guys would have been champs in other eras and many of them for sure Cruiserweight champs.

People talk about Tyson beating bums but Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis beat these same fighters after Tyson already had beat them and nobody called them bums when they beat them, Tysons prime was short but he beat good fighters.

My therapist was there when Pinklon said to the class he thought he was ready to fight Mike Tyson. They all looked around and laughed This was 30 ish years ago but looking back now man Pinklon was tough

I don't think Mike Tyson was a very good boxing fighter as many people, including the media, tend to portray the legendary boxer. If one watches carefully everyone of Tyson's approaches in the ring, one notices Mike bundling himself inside his opponent, forcing the arms of the opponent below and lower so that it is only Tyson doing the damage. Many boxers became "prey" to Tyson's onslaught because of the failure to identity Tyson's technique. Hence, James Douglas, Evander Holyfield, Lennix Lewis, Danny Williams, and Kevin McBride were able to beat Tyson.
