This is a good channel to get your Notre Dame fix. Hopefully you check out several other of the ND highlights that have been posted.
Dan Devine is one of the great unsung, underrated football coaches. His good/bad luck was always to be in the shadow of legends. An assistant to Duffy Daughtery in East Lansing. He succeeded Don Faurot at Mizzou. The second coach after Lombardi in Green Bay. And, of course, he replaced Ara in South Bend. He had an overall better record than Faurot, coached the Packers to their only NFC Central Division title (in '72) until the Brett Favre era, and, of course, led the Irish to the national title in '77. Same number, as it turns out, as Holtz. What more could you want ? 🏈🏉

Btw, it was Devine who revived the wearing of the green and gold jersey (for the first time since '63) before the famed Trojan Horse Game against Southern Cal. 😊
never understood benching Courey.
Love it how they just gloss over just how bad their butts were kicked by SC that year. 20-3. It was Notre Dame who didn't score a touchdown. But the narrator just goes glibly on.....lol
G o. Irtehhh
And coach Faust tore it all down, a good man but a terrible hire as head coach
