Absolutely gorgeous 😍. I had an identical 1979 gold edition with t-tops, same engine with WS6 package. I truly miss that car 😊😊😊 mine did have the hood bird.

I had one of these ws6 heritage brown tan cloth seats what a great car. I called it keys to a roller coaster.

Beautiful Heritage Brown with Camel Hobnail missing the W72 Performance Package, T-Tops and the Frickin’ Chicken. What knucklehead ordered this 1/2 Trans Am?

@@MarkRoberts-bj2me haha but now it is a rare Trans Am! How often do you see a non bird and non T-top car? Not very. Thanks for checking it out! If it makes it any better, the new owner put a bird on it

Hmmm…Pontiac built about 119,000 of this iconic model in ‘79. Approximately 90% had the small block Olds 403. Does Heritage Brown with Camel Hobnail, WS6, no T-Tops and Hood Decal Delete equate to a 1 of 100,000 and even if it does is that a desirable stat? I’m sure the “savvy” dude that bought it was as happy as a six year old with a two scoop ice cream cone. Seriously, do you recall if the cat had been pulled from the car. Sounds throaty for a stock automatic although obviously an after market exhaust system is present but doesn’t sound like a cat-back.

@@MarkRoberts-bj2me I think it comes down to personal preference as to what a "desirable stat" is. Who really knows how few of them were actually produced, but I think it's something different. When is the last time you saw a brown one without a bird and T tops? To each their own though. The lady who bought this was as happy as a kid with THREE scoops 🙃. This was just like her first car. This car did not have any cats on it. There are still pics of it up, including the underside. You can see here: www.callawayclassics.com/1979-pontiac-trans-am-brown

Question: Is this a hood bird delete car? Got any supporting documentation? 😁

Great question! One I get alot. As far as I can tell it is. Technically I wouldn't call it a "delete" since the bird was an option and never standard. I don't have any documents on the car, so I can't verify completely, but there are no marks or signs of the bird being removed (i.e. outline marks or heavy buffing in bird area). Based on paint meter readings I know the hood is original paint. Also, the meter readings are consistent between the areas of the hood where the bird would normally be and not be. Based on this, my assumption is this was never a hood bird car. Also, the original buyer did not pay for the T-top option, making it plausible they weren't getting all the options for this car.
