1977 Pontiac Firebird LS3 Swap Restomod: From Classic to 530hp Pro-Touring Beast!
V8 Speed and Resto Shop took a classic 1977 Firebird and transformed it into a pro-touring monster. They added some "Bad" to the Bandit spirit for Trans Am fans!
This wasn't your average T-Top Trans Am - it was a non-T-Top model that received a major performance overhaul.
At the heart of this transformation was a brand new LS3 V8 engine. This beast pumped out a whopping 530 horsepower, a far cry from the original engine's output. To handle all that extra power, the shop installed a 4L70E overdrive transmission.
V8 Speed and Resto knew that a pro-touring car needed to handle corners well, so they outfitted this Trans Am with a Global West suspension system. This upgrade ensured precise handling and confidence-inspiring grip.
Comfort was also important. The shop didn't forget about everyday usability and installed a Vintage Air A/C system to keep things cool on hot summer days.
To keep the driver informed, they replaced the classic instrument cluster with a modern Dakota Digital gauge setup, providing all the essential information in a clear and stylish way.
The V8 Speed and Resto Shop is ready to perform a stock and original restoration or build a high performance restomod Trans Am for you. Contact us anytime to chat about your project goals!

Excellent as always! I'm not a patina guy, but the condition of this car, with the mods you've done, make it a perfect candidate to drive an enjoy. In other words, one stone chip won't ruin your whole day. Dig the mods, the execution, and the final results. Thanks for sharing ~ Chuck

Nice to see a restomod project that keeps it looking so original. Very tasteful. Functional shaker would be pretty cool.

This is exactly what I would have done other than the trans. Got to have a manual. I wouldn’t have cared about the cosmetics either. Just get it back on the road.

Just bought a 79 10th Anniversary, 400 4-speed, 20k Original miles. Of course, I want to spoil it and do modifications! I called these guys multiple times for advice. I spoke with Joe each time and let me tell you. That guy was soooo accommodating and freely shared advice and answered all my questions. I would not hesitate to use guys to do my car. Thank You Joe!!!

It has the looks...but it doesn't have the sound. The Pontiac 400 sings a very unique song. But so long as the customer is happy.
