1977: People wait in line for Elvis tickets in Indianapolis

The hundreds of people waiting in line for tickets at Indianapolis' Market Square Arena 41 years ago may not have known it at the time, but they were going to see Elvis Presley's last show ever on June 26, 1977.

Elvis was a big concert draw to the end. I think the reason people say that is because his records were no longer selling like they had previously he hadn’t had a true pop hit in almost 5 years by 1977. Burning love in 1972 was his last big hit.

Inflation Calculator calculates $15.00 in 1977 to $64.00 in 2020. A bargain still when you consider today's top legendary acts ask for at least 3 times that for tix.
