*THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN CONSIGNED TO A BRING-A-TRAILER ONLINE AUCTION. ONCE THE DETAILS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED IT WILL BE UPDATED HERE. STAY TUNED.*
This beautiful 1976 Triumph TR6 Convertible has 5,600 original miles and is truly “The Holy Grail”. It’s an amazing survivor and one lowest mileage original Triumph TR6’s known to exist in the world. It has tons of original documentation that verifies everything including the mileage. This is a two owner vehicle that was with the original owner for 44 years. It retains all of the original factory Carmine Red paint which is in great condition. The paint was tested by MS CLASSIC CARS with an electronic paint meter which resulted in 100% original factory paint. The paint is complemented with the original black convertible top and original black interior which are also both in great condition. The car still sits on the original rims and Michelin-X redline tires. The entire car was rustproofed with Ziebart by Youngstown Auto-Truck Rustproofing on June 6th, 1976 which is fully documented. The car is powered by the original matching numbers 2.5L 6-cyclinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission. Everything is in working order throughout. It runs and drives excellent. This car was featured in “The Vintage Triumph” magazine. All of the original documentation and multiple miscellaneous items are included with the sale. This is an unbelievable opportunity right here, right now!
As the original two dealership Bill of Sales indicate this car was ordered by Sainato Motors, Inc located in Warren, Ohio for James J. Kasper who lived in Struthers, Ohio. It was originally ordered on February 28th, 1976 as a 1975 model which ended up getting switched to a 1976 model. A letter from Bob Sainato the owner of the dealership indicates he was trying to sell James a vehicle from stock when the order got switched. James ended up passing on those vehicles and went with this car. The second Bill of Sale was dated May 27th, 1976 which is this car.
The original exterior of this car is in absolutely beautiful condition especially considering the car is 44 years old. Matter of fact it’s actually nicer than most of the restored Triumph TR6s on the market. The body is in beautiful condition with a limited amount of minor chips. It’s free of any dents or scratches. Since the hood, doors and trunk lid have never been off the car they operate like they did when the car was new. The original factory Carmine Red paint has been detailed to a brilliant shine. The car still sits on the original 15” steel wheels and Michelin-X redline tires. The wheel numbers are as follows: 5.5JX15x6, 311243, K5A and 981 which decode as 1976 Triumph TR6 wheels. The tires numbers are as follows: FHTJ A8NX465 which decode with a production date of the 46th week of 1975.
The original interior of this car is also in absolutely beautiful condition especially considering the car is 44 years old. Matter of fact it’s actually nicer than most of the restored Triumph TR6’s on the market. The black interior is super crisp with virtually no signs of wear. The dash pad, walnut dashboard, dash hardware, gauges, steering wheel, console, shifter, e-brake handle, door panels, door hardware, seats, seat belts, carpeting and rubber floor mats are in great condition. The photos of under the dash, under the carpeting and under the seats clearly demonstrate the condition of this original interior. The original Ziebart stickers and a service sticker are still on the driver’s door.
The original engine compartment is very clean throughout. The backside of the hood still retains the original yellow factory emissions control sticker. The Ziebert yellow tabs are also on the back side of the hood and edge of inner fenders. It was treated to Ziebart Rustproofing which was sprayed on the firewall, inner fenders and radiator support. When the Ziebert Rustproofing was being applied some of the overspray went on the engine block which is still visible. The yellow original Ziebart sticker is still on the inner fender. The car is powered by the original matching numbers 2.5L 6-cyclinder engine that runs excellent. The engine stamp number 43335 matches the engine number on the original factory window sticker. The window sticker reads 152 cubic inch displacement, two single barrel carburetors, manual 4-speed transmission non-catalyst, 2750 LB. test weight, 3.7 axle ratio.
The undercarriage is very clean throughout. Everything was completely sprayed with Ziebart Rustproofing when the car was new to prevent rust.

My 1976 Pimento Red TR6 currently has 2,833 total miles. It is an absolute beauty! It won best of show at the Alden British Car show last year out of 250 cars including Jags, Healeys et al. I guess you can tell I'm very proud of it!! I am the original owner purchasing it from the British Leyland dealer. It has the original paint, redline tires, hardtop and BL007 British Leyland am/fm radio. I agree, the Ziebart is not something I would want on my collector vehicle.

I bought a 75 in 82--- great fun car- head turner , chick magnet all day paid 7200 Canadian-- get ready to tinker with it if you buy it--- English 50 year old Technology . temperamental carbs, .... cantilevered oliptical rear shocks are expensive, if you want to keep original. potential rust issues abound with that so called English steel its great if you can afford a low miles unit and drive it rarely then pass it on, not a daily driver. unless you wanna spend a lot of money.

Lol.... As soon as you said Warren, Ohio, I knew it was Sainato's where I wrenched on British Leyland cars!! In fact, I worked there when that car was sold. I may have prepped that car for delivery!! PS: I still have my '69 BRG TR6, a '68 BRG Lotus Europa twin cam, and a '70 John Cooper Works MINI.

Since that was the last year they made the triumph tr6 makes the car more special. The triumph gt6 is also special too, especially the 1970 gt6 plus. A very pretty car with a 6 cylinder motor. You could get it with or without overdrive.overdrive is special on this car. A lift up front end and vents on the top and sides of the hood and the raised nose. It has a great profile. It sits low to th ground and has 13 inch wheels. A 6 cylinder go cart. It turns a lot of heads.very fun to drive.

I have a 1973 TR6 with 5621 original miles. It's Malard green and has half of it's original paint. It was in a minor collision when almost new. It was then parked and never looked at for 40+ years. It was never cared for so other than being rust free it still needed a fair bit of work.

I see it’s sold. Congratulations on finding a new home for it. My first car was a 1965 TR4 and my second was a 1968 GT6. I went on to be a foreign car mechanic throughout the 70’s and always wanted a TR6. Unfortunately I wound up being to tall and to big to ever get one. I appease my urge by watching videos like yours.

I sold my all original 76 for $6500...50,000 miles. I was the second owner and a friend of the original owner. Unfortunately she drove it year round and it rusted. Fixed poorly but still the original Maple brown with correct paint. Yes, it did have the original Redlines on it when I bought it but they got replaced with real replica Michelins. Interior and top all as new. Loved that car.

Sweet ride. She is a sistership to my own 1975 with 40,000 original. I am piling on many more though... these cars need to be driven! Superb fun. ... by the way "... this car sits on the original tires..." How is that an advantage? I simply don't believe that 44 year old tires in a car that is undriven are still in driving condition, except the possibility that they were stored separate from the vehicle?
