Can watch and listen to these all day long … the knowledge is unbelievable
Love these videos but I wish they would turn that damn radio down it's always drowning out whats being said on every video
Super car, better engine and performance than a capri. I had one and loved it..

They used that block as the basis for their own aluminium block in the Lotus Esprit S1, (with an aluminium twin cam 16valve head)
The 2300 Magnum coupe was a rare car indeed. Initially over-shadowed from '73 -'75 by the HP Firenza 'droopsnoot' and then in '76 by the Cavalier / Manta coupe. I think Vauxhall only made around 600 Magnum 2300 coupes, and around 1500 Magnum 1800 coupes. Someone will have the actual figures, but literally only a handful of 2300 coupes now survive.
What a fast car,my mate had one in the late 70s,I had a 1967 Austin Cambridge, like chalk and cheese,
I had a blue estate with the 2300 engine, very quick and smooth in a straight line, not so much in the corners!
I remember as 14 year going to a London motor show and seeing the Firenza Droop snoot, 2.3 ohc twin strombergs, 5 speed ZF box, 0-60 in 7.5 secs, topped out at over 120, for those days sensational for a run of the mill production car.
When we were kids my dad had a Firenza in red. It was only the 1256cc version with the oblong speedo but it looked lovely. I remember thinking why cant we have the faster version!! Its shape still cuts it today. Such a sporty shape
i had a 1800 magnum estate on a p reg what a brilliant car
I think it's prettier than that DB7. I have even more respect for Derek now that he's parked his arse on an Aston to admire a Vauxhall! 👍

He's a Luton man, like me.
Derek REALLY knows his cars ! ( there is 2 shapes of front wings for these & maybe that car has a mixture ) really scarce car ! , Derek gets them ALL ! , 10/10
Be a lot better watching Derek .. if the radio was turned down ., As much as I like Barry White

Bit of Barry white …stop being so miserable
Another very rare Vauxhall that I’ve yet to see here is the Vauxhall Chevette HS.. now those are very very rare.
0:43 Actually, they were NOT ever so in demand when they were new, that is why there aren't many around now. In fact Vauxhall had to bring out the Viva E Coupe to use up the coupe bodyshells they had left over.
I do remember these in the early 80’s when I was a student. Even then very desirable. It often reminds me of some pontiacs (similar coupe design in the USA at the time). These cars are rocketing in value now, probably a better investment than any ISA in the bank !.
I had a Magnum 2300 2 door saloon in 1986. They were still pretty quick even then.
I worked on them when new, they were the Vauxhall to have. I'm sure it's paint colour under the bonnet too.
Droop snoot Firenza for saloon car racing and Chevette HSR 2300 for rallying……had a test drive of a HS2300 Chevette in the early 80’s always wished I’d bought it.
Turn that music down please ……it’s wrecking the videos …
I had a 2300 Sl saloon which I rallied at club rallies loved it went like a rocket
Turn down the music !!
When I was a teenager, say early 80’s dad bought a 2300 Magnum that had a head gasket failure, cheap, and spent a few weeks fixing it up to sell on. It was a metallic moss green colour, same Rostyle wheels and vinyl roof as this one. Remember it fondly.
The thinking mans Capri
I'm an estate car man, but I've always liked the Vauxhall Firenza, although this is the Magnum version.
Great looking cars - had a 2300 magnum coupe auto in maroon back in the day - takes me right back to 1989!
BEAUTIFUL car.
Great to See a Firenza 2300, and this one looks pretty good, I was born in Luton and most people had a Vauxhall model be it a Viva (2) in our family or any other model, Vauxhall offered it's workers a good discount , Luton will always be Vauxhall Town, even though the last car made was in 2002.
Gorgeous motor
I had a 1800 2door auto version. Light green colour with a vinyl roof! I seem to remember(correct me if i am wrong) that the engine was angled at 45 degrees and it suffered from the so called "Death Rattle" when starting from cold! I think i bought mine sometime in the 1980's. The photo i have of it will probably tell me when i had it. No record of mine on DVLA so sadly may have been scrapped. I think there are only a couple left of my version.
those engines had huge torque but I prefer the vx4/90 or panther Lima with same running gear but fiberglass body.
Gerry Marshall was a beast in his Firenza droop snoot, affectionately known as "Old nail" sold for £93k at Bonhams in 2019.
I've got a firenza 23 sl sport in the front garden under wraps😊
Lovely video, of a very rare classic Vauxhall car. One thing I’d say is turn the volume of the radio playing in the background so we can hear what you’re saying about the car. Also I noticed a paint blemish or funny marking on the boot lid at the left hand top area near to the rear window .
My dad had a 1971 Firenza new, yellow with black vinyl roof, it had an 8 track cassette player
Lovely car: ref the wings: the early HC cars had the lip, whereas the later didn't. It's not unknown for them to leave the factory with one of each, I understand, or for an earlier car to be fitted with a later wing, or vice versa. It's quite a subtle difference, so understandable really.
Great car,it's 50 years old you would expect a bit of imperfections
There used to be a heavily modded one round Crystal Palace, but very well done.
Some friends back in New Zealand got 230 hp by turbocharging a 2.3 lite.
Proper nice car
Tayside Traffic Police ran a bright orange one.
I had the Firenza 2.3 SL sport. Fast car in its day
My father owned a P Reg one of these and we towed a caravan with it. He part ext it for a 1979 Datsun, which was rotten after only 3 years.
What about a droop snoot
hmmm i think the old rose tinted glasses getting in the way i remember them all well 7.5 secs to 60 out of the droop snoot? i think not !! they were rot boxes !!
we had a 1975 1800 magnum. it would beat my mates 1600e cortina every time
I wonder does Derek know they're still showing MASH on sky freeview every evening 😊
Sold for 16K. With fees that would take it over 17K. Big money!
The Aston is only an xk8 or xj’s I can’t remember he’s right it is prettier and probably wouldn’t be far behind it?
TURN THE MUSIC DOWN !!!!!
Be careful re radio on in background. KZread can give you a strike re music. Would hate to stop looking at this channel.

Surprised it's not happened...love their tunes in the background! 😂
GM built wonderful not so now
Этож вива!
Where's the gorgeous Sarah?
Oh sorry the magnum 🙄🤔
What's it going to make at auction? My guess is low teens. Vauxhall never had a works motorsport team they left it to the dealers, perhaps that's why they weren't campained as much as the Fords who had works backing.

Yep, I had a FD Victor 2000SL and my parents had the Viva 1800 and to do the points in them was to say the least, a "challenge!" 😂
Turn the radio off
Big puddle underneath 🙄🤔
They need to upgrade the camera big time, should be on a 4k by now to much pixelation.
