Assuming you are running the original gas tank that sits behind the seat. How far can you go on a tank? I'm debating if I should keep my stock tank or get a kit and move it underneath the bed.

I don’t daily the truck and rarely full fill it honestly. But with this motor setup I’m sure it gets 5mpg maybe less so not to far. If you would daily it I would probably go under bed tank and get a 32 or something

@@derxgarage2121 hmm ok. Must be a different shock set up. Im building one now and normaly the shock boots are on top to cover the pistons . Not sure why the polished pistons would be on bottom thet will get hit by debri and get scratched then leak. I will.do some research

Every brand from EVERY company for EVERY truck are designed to have the shocks with the rubber boot ,covering the piston arm mounted with the rubber boot on the top of the set-up. I've restored probably between 500 and 700 total Chevy rigs in the last 45 years, somebody would have corrected me by now I would think --don't ya think bud ????? Happy Wrench'in !!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim

You guys don't need to do any research---I can tell ya from restoring just under 400 of these rigs since 1979 and being featured in two or three popular 4x4 magazines that the rubber boot is ALWAYS on top. And if your gonna say" Jim, it hits my tailpipe of my exhaust ---I say do your damn exhaust last , then you can bend it around EVERYTHING !!!!! Your suspension, your brake lines, your trailering set-up or any lights or wiring that could get to warm. Thank's guys !!!! Jim

Ten inch is not any more problem prone if it's done right and maybe has a couple of sway bars or some way of stabilizing the body to the chassis. Do ya see where I am go'in here it's all about ---the higher we go the less control we have of the motion caused by lifting it.
