1970 Mustang Fastback Boss 302 survivor

probably coming up for sale soon for the right price.( SOLD a few yrs ago)
Matching #s motor, runs and drives, but been parked for 2 yrs. Gas should be drained etc. Original paint. This car was sold in Tucson new back in 1970, and its never left the Az desert climate. Probably the most rust free un-restored low mileage Boss left out there. Located in Tucson Az.
I bought this car in 1995 here in Tucson where I live, and we sold it 23 yrs later, after doing some mild resto on it and putting maybe 400 miles on it.

My brother bought a 1970 Boss 302 like this one when he got out of the army in 1969. Still has it. Runs like new. Ford had a great car back then, but the new version is even better!

Careful, man. We got them all over NM, too. But the passenger side floors almost always have bad rust because the heater drain hose dries out and cracks at the kick plate and 50 years of trickling moisture gets trapped under sound deadening panels under the carpet. The stupid hoses are the kiss of death and it seems no one inspects or replaces them. My '68 Cougar (AZ car) and '69 Mustang coupe (NM car) had bone dry dusty, cracked vinyl interiors and under the passenger front carpet was a rotted swamp. Crawl under and probe it.

What a diamond in the rough. Honestly, the whole car needs to be disassembled and stripped completely to re-coat the car to preserve it for a long time. Rust never sleeps and is like a cancer that will consume the whole car given enough time. This car will never be built again and needs perfect preservation. I know a lot of people say leave it and be good but a 1970 Boss 302 is priceless. And therefor should live as long as possible. Again, this is not any old ordinary car and should only be driven on sunny Sundays if at all.

The rear blacked out paint was done by someone other than ford, it was a popular thing to do back then. and the Hurst "T" shifter was aftermarket, a good thing that I did also. the original is a round bent rod shifter. Almost every "kid" like me, then, did that. I'm 70. You have a LOT of rust, too. It's FAR from original, that is just a buzz word that you use!!!!
