1969 SeaNymph gets some serious wood up front, watch as I install storage and a casting deck

In this episode I give the 51 year old SeaNymp some fresh wood and a big ole storage hole up front. Finally a place to put my goodies so they are not under foot while boating. This is more of a how I did it verses how to do it video for sure. Enjoy.

Your videos somehow cost me money. Every time you post one it gives me more ideas for my boat.😄
It sure is nice to see a vintage boat and motor out on the water. Thank you for showing people how they can get out on the water without having to buy a new boat. Hopefully it will inspire some people to get out on the water.

Glad you enjoyed it and I hope it does too.
Nice job waterproofing the plywood, so many folks skip this step.

thank you.
Like that hatch detail. I’ve cut and wrapped those, but that looks good and saved time. Do that if I ever build another. Nice job.

Great project. Hope to do something like this in the future on my 14' 1952 Duracraft. Keep these vids coming...
I envy you sir I wish I could do the stuff you do great content love your Channel keep up the good work
Another excellent video. I’m interested in the next one with the camera mount since I’ve been thinking about the same for my boat. Thanks and keep up the great work and ideas.
Nice job learning a lot from you.
Super long shaft trolling motor. Freakin fantastic. On the list.
Great idea, just finished my 12" aluminum was leaking a little on the bow seam , resealed stripped the whole thing, and painted the whole thing inside and out w a new transom board, I do love your idea , wish you had a place I could send a pic Thanks Mike

@@Michaelsbackyardmarina Yeah I know I watched the video, carpet hinges on top covering the other hinges very good idea.
I have a 90’s sea nymph deep water 14r I am doing a build on! Nice work
Great video! I am doing a similar thing to a 1974 1448 semi v. One helpful hint for you is to move a passenger seat to the middle seat for proper weight displacment. They will appreciate it as well riding in a seat forward facing and your boat should not "plow" anymore. I would upgrade to an 18 to 25 hp 2 stroke too. Please keep on with the content and enjoy!

Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the tips and tricks today....never would have used cardboard as a template .....great idea!! I have oars but like the trolling motor much better.
Great idea and very nice execution.
How's she goin'? Nice job with the foredeck install!!! Looks good and solid. A real big improvement to the boat!!! Take care!!
Hey, really enjoy your videos. I’d watched so may videos on building floors. I like your idea for the front. Like so many other videos never see how one frames under the plywood with small pieces of wood so to make compartments. Thanks again and keep those videos coming. Bryan Eastern Canada.

Awesome, thank you!
Hi Mike... I always wear a life jacket when on my boat. Think about it. You never know what might happen. I do enjoy your videos.
One tip: Don't "throw your fishing rod in the water"... Just throw out your lure, but make sure it's tied to your fishing line first... LOL
Nice fit! You may want to have, in the storage area, where items lie on the hull, some perf-rubber floor mat or thick plastic grating to keep the equip above the pooled rain water about the floor gussets.
Looks good!
Turned out great!
Great video. Would have love to see the structural framing you had done before plywood. Cheers

Great suggestion!
Really like your videos always interesting and learn something new. The impeller change on the 9.9 Evinrude came in handy I have same motor just a couple years newer. I have one important question . How in the world do you keep those nice shirts clean !!!!

you should have taken out the middle bench added a subfloor to the third bench ran some more of those aluminum support so that you could've replace the bench foam with some R 5 pink foam also you should've added some conduit pipe so if you wanted to add some more wiring. it would be easier also if you take out the middle seat and you could get some angle aluminum to run the deck further back and add some more storage hope that makes sense.
I gotcha your wood!
You could shorten the legs of your tripod for your camera and make a bracket for it and it will be out of your way plus you can still get the results from before.
How much extra weight did you add? How about rod holders for trolling and storage?

I would estimate about 125Lbs including the battery and anchor and gear. Don't need rod holders on this boat for trolling. This boat is primarily for testing the outboards I repair.

Put 99 hp Johnny with 15 carb on it cut the middle seat and put a 3 gallon tank under it .or you could have put it up front work better like your video fun is what it about
Going to have to put your 25 hp on the back to handle the additional boat weight plus your additional weight. Of course you could get down to your fighting weight, (180#) and stick with the smaller motor. But we both know that ain’t going to happen, better idea might be to start looking for a 35hp, problem is a new supply of smaller pants and wild shirts might force you into bankruptcy.
Blacksmith...??? WTF...???
