Just to be clear, the 69 Chevelle was 3rd gen. 64, 65 was 1st gen, 66, 65, 67 2nd gen with the 68 starting the 3rd gen. Looks to be a great kit , thanks for the review !

Thanks. My brother's favorite car was the Chevelle so I wanted to build one...never done a model before so this aught to be interesting. I opened it up tonight and realized I had no idea what colors I needed for the engine. Thank you SOOOO much for your detailed description. I'm sure this will help a bunch!....now for more paint!

Doug that is an incredible Chevelle build! I can't get over the amazing detail and updated parts, I was really impressed by that molded in thermostat housing! I have yet to see any model car or truck kit with an actual thermostat housing! That metallic brown is beautiful! Thanks for sharing Sir!

I had a 69 SS396 in high school, it was Lemans blue with white interior. Incredibly the owner before me replaced the 4 speed with TH400.

The valve cover decal said the engine was made in Tonawanda #1 Team. My car was assembled in Oshawa Ontario

The first ever muscle car was not the 63 GTO but it was the impala ss from 1961, a lot of people agree and disagree but the impala ss was the first car to start the muscle car movement.

@grncoup if that’s the case it shouldn’t have chrome valve covers then chrome valve covers were on the 350hp with a painted cast iron intake and with the 375hp withe the aluminum intake

Looks good, but not a brown fan, l gotta build one in hugger orange, I had a 69 in my 20s in puke green, rusty, no power after a year and just died.
