Not a true SS, but still a nice car. I need to get a video of mine posted. True 68 SS fastback, 4 speed w/console and bucket seats. Still have original 327/Saginaw 4 speed, but woke it up w/a 388 stroker motor (using a 302DZ block from a 69 302 Camaro), and an M-20 Muncie 4 speed.

Iam currently restoring my dad’s true 1968 SS 327 with console Ect . What’s the wheel and tire setup. Specs like offset and BACKspacing. You’re car is clean well done it’s real nice love the fastback .

Nice car, all 68 impalas with the supersport option came with bucket seats, console and special door panels. The only exception is the ss427 package which was ordered separately from the supersport package. You could order an ss 427 without the supersport package and end up with the standard interior. I like the ss427 style hood treatment!

Whoa.....there's some misinformation here. Though the Z03 (SS) came w/buckets, bench seats were a no-cost option. W/o stating so, the SS427 (Z24) included the basic Z03 components but also had its specific upgrades, hood & fender louvers. Alone, a Z03 (SS) could be ordered w/either an L36 or the L72 (both 427s). The above 3rd sentence is a bit confusing in its wording.

I was driving a 68 Caprice and got rear ended making a left hand turn in 72. Frame got bent. Loved the car except for as you say it had a 307. Yes it took oil.

Man my grandfather had one when I was a kid thought he was going to pass it down to me went over one weekend and it was gone found out when I got older my grandmother made him sell it said it was too fast and he might wreck it 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

Gave this video a thumbs down... I will tell you... A car like this needs to be videotaped with some distance between the camera and the car. How am I supposed to enjoy the beauty of this car when the camera is hugging right up on it? And why do I need to look at a close-up of a tire? Here's the beautiful car and all this camera guy is focusing on is tires! It's a shame that such a beautiful car was assigned such a shitty camera operator!

That 68 is a fake SS. Bench seat? Wrong badging on grille. No chrome vents on front fenders ? I grew up in one of these. Who you fooling?
