Oh my god, what I wouldn't give for that car! It's the exact same one my mother used to drive when I was little. Same color, same year, same sound. I love it! This video made me feel so emotional, remembering riding around with her. She passed away over thirty years ago. I miss her, and I miss taking rides in that car!

My daddy had a cold-blooded black-on-black sedan one. Those '68 circle back redlights were the bomb!! My brother cried when he sold it.
1968 was a great year for the full-size Chevrolets. They still look great 56 years later.
My best friend had one of these in High School. The styling is just perfect for a full size car. These cars only improve with age. Very iconic car that takes me back to a much better time.

Excellent car can anyone resist the urge to rev it when it sounds so good, love to hear it even as it gently rolled past the camera at little more than idle. complemented by the fine 4K video work . Thanks

Thank you Ken! Great lines helps! Love filming these old cars.
Double thanks Sam. I had two of these 68's. One was a Caprice & the other an Impala and both were 4 door. They both had the great 327 or I thought it was. The Impala got 24 MPG running the A/C & driving 55.
Nice! I miss mine and need to finish restoring it. Such a cool body style with the fastback!
Had one just like it but Imron Yellow with Cragars. Blue Walker glass packs. Loved that car!
that car is in stunning shape

I bought a 1969 Impala about a month ago. I live out east so the car is in storage for the winter. When I was a kid we were kind of poor, lived in a trailer park next to these broken down houses. A lot of mexicans lived back there and they were always making lowriders and hot rods. The Chevy Impala seemed to be a favorite. Spray paint for a paint job, seats from the junk yard ( Ive seen a few with milk crates used for the passenger seat.) But as a kid coming of age these are the cars I remember. The classic car dealer I bought it from told me it was sold at Yenko Chevrolet. It was not a high performance model. Has no paper work so I cant verify but it did come with a factory four speed and a 327. It was lime green with the black vinyl roof. Im of course hoping it really was sold at Yenko, not because I want to pass it off as a high performance car but because of the history of that hot rod dealer. Anyway still has the four speed and they put a 454ci crate engine in it. Has the high rise manifold and headers. It is painted cream color with a stripe on the sides and lots of gloss. If it did not have the stripe it would look like a sleeper. I had it checked out by a mechanic as well as a classic car expert, well worth the money to do an inspection on a 50 year old car. Im told it has 500 horsepower which is more than enough. I cant imagine myself needing more than that on the streets to cruise. I also took it for a test drive and man its like being in a mosh pit at a hard rock concert, the car shoves you in your seat when I accelerate. In fact the car scares me a little. Hope I get used to that power. I just love the impala.

They do look like SS door panels, however it's. regular Impala. The Impala SS came with bucket seats and console with the package. I believe those panels were upgraded during a restoration endeavor.

That my friend is music to most people's ears. Maybe if it was an old Caddy or more of a luxury car I might ask that same question, but an old Sporty Chevy needs to sound off a little.
