That Caprice is such a beautiful comfortable car. Had a '69 Caprice (Kingswood Estate ) wagon with the 396. Learned to drive in it. That car was an absolute cream puff! As an added bonus, that car MOVED! Don't tell my folks tho lol! Thanks for sharing this video!

I was 1 year old in 1968, and my spirit of live says me that this kind of music, fashion, ellegance is what I really like. This commercial is my scense of what I am until today, those cars are what I would like to see, and I can see 2020 has nothing of it. We live in a world with zero glanour, this TV comnercial instead is full of glamour. Life in 60s had that touch of ellegance and distinction, even cars like Caprice. ©2020, Cristian, Santiago, Chile.

I was 14 when this car came out but I remember it well. One of my friends' parents had it. Smooth, comfy, roomy, and even a good sound system. My sister had a 68 Camaro. Astro Ventilation always cracked me up. It sounded so space age, but it was in most aspects just another vent. Nothing like hot air on a hot day.

Thanks for uploading. Love the high quality. Pure Mad Men chic! Commercials may be idealized and project a distorted, unrealistic representation of life in the interest of inducing desire to buy, but this clip just epitomizes what was (and is) so wonderful about "modern life". Great setting, gorgeous car, equally gorgeous lady, slick, very professional photography, the fashions, the voice-over, music, editing...everything is just right. Light, cool, elegant, fresh, modern. An ode to bright, breezy, happy living..hard to believe this was made 50 years ago. That's half a century. To me, this seems fresher and more youthful than most of anything today. We may have grown estranged from the aesthetics and the charm of mid-century commercial culture, our sentiments tainted by the disappointments and cynicism of the decades since, but this stuff just never gets old. Because it just doesn't get better than this. There simply is no app for cool.

Interesting that no other GM full-size car had them. Corvettes, GTO's and the big coupes like the Eldorado, Toronado and Riviera, but none of the regular big cars from the other divisions. And in '68 at least, Ford offered them only on the LTD. The following year, however, LTD, Marquis and Continental all had hidden headlights. On Mopars, just the Dodge Charger and the Chrysler 300 in '68.

I’ve got a 70 custom 10 in my backyard right now. Probably spent more of my childhood in the truck than I did in my backyard actually. In its heyday that truck was beastly. Being a custom 10 it has a lot of options like a headliner and radio along with a lot of trim. I bought a 66 impala when I was 19 for $650. I technically wreaked it within a week lol. Fortunately the car wasn’t hurt just my pride. I’m currently 23 to give you some context on how long ago this was. Impala has no brakes to this day and hasn’t moved much since I bought it. I’m actually trying to figure out how to go about taking it to a bodyshop now for sandblasting and paint

Her 'elegant' car is a Chevy? Lol! 🤣🤣🤣 I've been a Chevy fan all my life, but that's hilarious! Lol! They trying to make it sound like a Rolls, or a Bentley...Lol! But what's even more hilarious is that pink tow sack they dressed her in before she used it to polish the hood of that car...Lol!

I'm just laughing at "astro ventilation" lol...... I know I'm going to sound spoiled but I could never ride in a car on a hot day without real, compressed air conditioning.

I believe Astro Air Ventilation™ was designed for the low humidity Western Hemisphere. Back East, it was never fun morning, noon or night, having that hot, humid Summer air circulating in the car. Better off opening windows. Yuck! Back in 1968, most cars did not have A/C, only high end cars like Lincolns, Cadillacs, Thunderbirds, etc. On other models A/C was ungodly expensive as a $700 option then.

Maybe not quite $700 but easily 10 percent or more of the price of the car.
